Into the night, the blood moon elevated high into the cobalt sky while stars glistened and danced at it's steady arrival. Further down below as the silver rays peeked and weaved through the evergreen canopy of the forest, a set of platinum hues helplessly viewed the marvelous canvas that was the evening sky.
Could there be a moment as beautiful as this? She asked herself. The tranquility of the woods granted her a sense of peace, which was a warm-welcomed retreat. As she lay in the grass, she groaned through her grey tipped muzzle and rolled on to her side. Her snow-white pelt, even though littered with twigs and leaves, appeared to glow in the darkest of shadow's.
In this chosen solitude she decided to relinquish all of her daily mishaps. The isolation of the grove offered her this ability, but for how long? The breeze was cut short so she would be unable to detect hunter's downwind and even with her acute hearing, the power of others to manipulate their surroundings were never to be underestimated.
It was during this momentus thought process that she determined that she was currently in a prolonged, if not brief safe haven. Being a young werewolf who was currently in her lupin form , she eased quietly into her temporary 'bed' and casually drifted into a light slumber.
-
Sapphira awoke hearing another creature stirring not to far off. Getting to her feet she leaned backwards stretching out her front legs then her back as she stepped forward. She sniffed the air around her to see if she could pick up the scent of whatever or whoever was around. She made sure not to make a sound as she made her way thru the brush and trees as not to alert whatever might be waiting. It wasn't long before she came upon a small clearing and a rather large wolf laying in the midst of a soft pile of vegetation. With Sapphira being about a third the size of the wolf she decided not to wake it for fear she might be a late night snack for the creature. Instead she climbed a near by tree were she again stretched out. It took her a while to drift back to sleep. She was so use to sleeping with all of her brothers and sisters in a heap. But for her safety her mother had to send her away. After all never in her clan had there been a white bubasti, they all looked at her like she was a bad omen from the gods. They clan feared that if she remained that they all would parish by the hands of the gods. They were going to kill her but her mother didn't wish to see her child dead and cursed for all of her after life. So she sent her far away so that she would be far out of harms way, able to live her life. But Sapphira still longed to be with her family, filling her dreams with thoughts of home.
-
Her song died off into the darkness, her ear's perked while she listened intently for a response. She heard nothing.
Her heart began to race and her mind became frantic with worry. Where were they? Why didn't they respond to her call? Then her thoughts were fiercely interrupted by a single, abrupt cry. It was loud and full of distress..it was her sister. 'Karma!' she screamed out.
Taking off with out warning, her massive claws dug deep into the ground for traction. Her muscles screamed for rest as they were being pushed to their limit..but she couldn't stop. Her instinct told her that something was definately wrong. Closing in on the fading sounds, it was as if her family were being wiped off the face of the earth and to her dismay..when she finally reached them, she couldn't believe what she was witnessing..because it was exactly that.
Stirring quite swiftly from an untold nightmare, her head jerked back. A glistening silver gaze surveyed her surrounding area almost frighteningly while her ears and nose took in all those things that she couldn't visually observe.
Sniff..
Something odd lingered in the air. It was a scent that almost blended into the perfume of the forest. It was unique and unfamiliar to her, so naturally it made her curious. Rising from her bed made of grass and leaves, she gradually followed the awkward essence. It drew her to a tree, following her nose she reared up onto her hind legs. Letting her forepaws land on the trunk she looked up to the tangled branches. Catching a glimpse of a small feline like creature that had a pelt like her's, she urged her body as far as it could go to get closer to it.
-
Sapphira lay sprawled on the branch she had chosen for her bed. Her legs dangled from the branch as she slept. The tree trembled slightly when the wolf's paws landed on trunk. She stirred a bit , her eye lids still heavy. Raising her head slightly she stretched her legs out. When she did one of her hind legs brushed against the cold wet snout of the wolf. Startled at the unexpected touch Sapphira sprang from the tree, her landing was a bit shaky. After recovering she spun around to face the enormous creature, instantly her hair standing on end. As she looked up at her in fear her heart racing. The only thing going thru her mind was. "It's going eat me!!" She slowly backed up her eyes glued to the massive wolf in front of her. She could tell that this wasn't a normal wolf, her scent was different. It still didn't matter even in one of her other forms she would still be no match for the wolf. Her eyes darted around looking for an escape. The only thing she had one the wolf was size, she could fit places that the wolf couldn't. She just hoped that she would be quick enough to get to one of those places. She looked back to the wolf , waiting to see what she was going to do.
-
As her nose touched the tip of other's tail, the silky strands tickled her senses and caused her to sneeze. Yet in the one second it took for her to take her eyes off the snow-white feline, the cat seemed to dissapear in a shaky retreat. Being inexperienced or perhaps not so determine, she seemed to look around in a sudden playful confusion before realizing the creature was behind her.
Landing on all fours, she gracefully turned around to once again face her assailant. Detecting a wave of fear as she looked into those moonlit hues, she absently drew forward in a very calm manner. Her paws fell lightly onto the grassy terrain and her tail brushed up against her powerful haunches. Soon she was looming over the trembling kitten(At least that is what she would appear from her eyes) and she brought her muzzle near the risen pelt and attempted to take in the essence of this animal.
She failed to bare her teeth or flaunt an aggressive demeanor. She was merely an adolescent exploring a new specimen. I will not harm you.. She mentally spoke to Sapphira, but she didn't know if the young female could understand her or not.
-
She tried to steady her body as the wolf approach her. She heard a soft voice speaking to her in her mind. She was right a normal wolf wouldn't have been able to speak to her like that. Still a bit unsure of her intentions she backed-up keeping some distance between them. The leaves shifting under her feet as she moved. "Who are you?" She replied. She had finally stopped trembling, her fur smoothing back out as she stood there looking up at her. She had backed-up so far she was now standing the wolf's bed. The wolf wasn't showing any aggression towards her so she started to relax a bit. Sitting down on the soft bed of grass her tail wrapped around her covering her front paws. The moonlight fading in and out as the clouds drifted thru the night sky. The soft light beaming down upon the two. Sapphira sat perfectly still, not out of fear but out of habit. Her posture was perfect she look like one of the egyptian statues. With the exception of her color. She was completely white except for one spot, directly between her shoulders was a birthmark. It was a soft gray in color, the eye of Ra.
-
The moment the feline spoke to her, she stopped dead in her tracks. Her muscles seemed to stiffen and her head cocked high as if the response was completely unexpected. Literally stuttering over her own words, she uneasily responded. M-my..My name is Keira. Who are you? You do not smell like a regular cat.. Her voice drifted off into silence. Her head tilted to the side at the thought of her question before moving forward once more. Determined, she wanted to take in a better whiff of the feline's aroma..if the little kitten would let her.
-
Sapphira felt a little more at easy wen she saw Keira's reaction to her speaking back. Keira was just as startled as she had been. She lowered herself down so that she was laying down in the soft grass. "My name is Sapphira." She replied. She looked around for a moment before looking back to Keira. "Don't your kind usually travel in packs? She asked curiously to weather they would be joined by more werewolf's. The moon was starting to retreat making way for the sun. Sapphira let out a long yawn. The Sky was slowly lighting up with soft pinks and purple as the sun started to take its place in the morning sky. A gentle breeze picking up as the two study each other. "Do you live close around here, or were you hunting?" She herself hadn't been here very long, so she didn't know if she had stumbled onto lycan hunting grounds. But Kiera was the first she had seen here, although eventually she was going to have to go into the city. It was so peaceful out here, bird flitting about a soft breeze rushing thru the trees. It was nothing like home, the blistering hot deserts and the awful sand storms. She didn't miss them any but she did how ever miss her days and snooping thru the pyramids. She could go places where humans could not, they were so afraid of destroying it so she often found places that where untouched beside the ones that had original built the place. She shook the thought of home from her head and returned her attention to Kiera.
-
With each passing second, she began to drift off to the side. Her triangular ears rolled effortlessly on the wind, picking up sounds of the woods inhabitants. Her notice swayed momentarily but was apprehended at the question about her pack. A certain sadness echoed within her glowing gaze as she returned her stare back in the direction of Sapphira.
The question itself not only captured her train of thought, it also snagged her body movement. Standing completely still, she finally exhaled and released her own tension. Please Sapphira, It is true that my kind usually travel in packs. However to my dismay, I was brutally robbed of my family..as they were of their lives. She continued, No, I am a foreigner looking for a new place to live. What about you Sapphira, are you a traveler as well?
Barely noticing the sun as it began to peak over the horizon, she proceeded to extend her undivided attention towards the interesting Sapphira.
-
She stared up at Kiera her heart sinking when she heard that she to was forced to be without her family. "I'm sorry about your family." She said quietly. "I was forced to leave mine. My tribe thought I was a curse on the whole tribe. My breed, bubasti well they are always black and with me being born white they said it was a bad omen from the gods. My mother and father sent me away. If they hadn't the tribe elders were going to curse me and bury me alive, trapped between life and death." She lowered her head laying it on top of her front paws a soft sigh slipping past her lips. "I found this place and have been staying here. Its far enough away from the city, that most of the humans don't venture out here.
-
She felt a reflecting emotion as she too shared her sorrowful tale. Bowing her head gracefully and allowing it to droop, her ears fluttered softly before she moved to lay on the ground.
The cool grass felt good against her fur while the morning dew kissed her silky strands. After settling with her large paws stretched out before her, she gently nosed her muzzle gingerly to Sapphira's side. I am also sorry to hear about your family, it must feel horrible to be cast away by those you love. She sighed briefly.
What an interesting sight it must be, to see a large wolf and a cat laying by one another. Finally glancing over to the east towards the elevating sun, she broke the silence once more. The city will be stirring soon. I plan to start my journey there within the next few hours. I know we just met Sapphira, but would you care to accompany me, so that we will not be alone in this unfamiliar place?
-
Briefly looking at Keira she sighed. "But the part that hurts the worse is that my family wanted me to stay. The tribe was the one that wanted me dead." They both fell silent for a while before Keira asked her if she wanted to join her along with a gentle nudge. But even with it being gentle, a nudge from a wolf her size rolled Sapphira onto her back. She laughed a bit as she looked back up at her. She stretched a single paw out and playfully batted at her muzzle. Even with the sorrowful news they had just shared with each other it was a welcomed relief to find a friend and even more so to laugh. "Yeah that sounds good to me." She rolled back over onto her stomach and settled back into the groove she had worked into the soft grass.
-
When a gentle nudge sent Sapphira to roll on her back, she instinctively stepped forward to follow the fall. Brushing her muzzle tenderly into her stomach as if to tickle her, she pulled back quickly when she felt the paw bat at her nose.
Sitting back on her haunches, she dropped to the ground and rolled onto her back. Exposing her underside with her paws flailing in the air, she twisted her spine and rubbed her body into the cool grass. With her maw gaped open in a goofy 'smile' and her tongue hanging out of the side, she probably appeared quite silly..as if she was a puppy embracing her youth. Her eyes were lit with excitement as she looked at Sapphira, her forepaws 'boxing' at the air as if presenting an invitation to continue this rare and playful occasion.
-
A grin tugged at the edges of her lips as she watched Keira's actions. Sapphira pressed herself into the ground her tail twitching. Moments later she pounced onto Keira's stomach, quickly swiping at one of her paws before launching herself into the air. Hitting the ground she spun around the to face her again. "Tag your it." She said as her eyes darted around looking for a quick exit. It had been years since she had played. With her mother trying to keep her out of sight from the rest of the tribe, she spent her time wondering around while her siblings took part in classes and such. She darted around Keira and off into the woods. She bounced off rocks and fallen trees trying to confuse Keira with her scent. She saw a hollowed out log covered in moss, she backed into she that she could watch for Keira.
-
OOC: Sorry, this post is going to be kind of crappy..for I am doing this during lunch time.
As her paws flailed in the air quite sporadically, her silver hues were lit with excitement. Swiftly rolling over onto all fours, recapturing her balance she took off after Sapphira. With her tail out behind her for balance, she drove herself forward..consistently changing the length of her stride for around each corner and turn, it forced her back on her haunches so she can shift into a different direction.
During this momentous occasion, she was feeling quite good. It had been a long time since she had been presented with a companion and it was her luck, she came across a young female who seemed to understand her situation.
Having seen a glimpse of a snow tipped tail, she took off after it. Yet even though it was unknown to her at that time, it wasn't exactly what she was looking forward. Launching herself through a pair of thick bushes, her forepaws came together to land on top of her assailant. However, instead of hearing giggling or laughter, she heard an annoying high pitched squeal. Her visage narrowed upon what was underneath her 'trap', she could feel a small fluffball trembling from her strong hold. Slowly spreading her paws apart. only a little bit to take a peek, she poked her moist nose into the soft fur and she felt the small critter instantly jump.
Bolting to a stand, she observed the small rabbit began as it began to bounce around trying to find a means for escape and curiously, with her ears pricked forward..she drifted onward to follow it. Apparently the poor thing was lost and in its own despair, it had appeared that it was about to become a playtoy for a very intrigued pup. Hey Sapphira! Look what I found.. Would it be so cruel for her to paw, nip and torture it? Or was it just a part of nature..Survival of the fittest?
-
Sapphira laid in the hollowed log waiting, her tail sweeping back and forth over the soft moss that lined the inside of the log. She was just about to peek out when Keira yelled. She ventured out of her hiding spot and went to see what the fuss was about. She came up behind her and pounced onto her back. She looked around as she spoke. "What is it?" No sooner had the words left her mouth did she see a little white bunny. She tilted her head as she watched the bunny run around trying to find a way out. Unfortunately for her the only way out was right past Keira. The poor thing trembled with fright at the site of Keira's size and it didn't help that she was now joined by what looked like an over sized house cat. "What are you going to do with her?" Sapphira looked at Keira her stomach was rumbling after all they had missed breakfast.
-
Ooc: Sorry for the delay..irl has been really hectic lately :/
Peeking over her shoulder, she casually glanced at Sapphire. I don't know..what should we do with it?. Her silver hues then drifted back towards the rabbit. Having stopped running around in countless circles, the young creature was shivering with fright as it sat balled up on the ground.
Tilting her head to the side, Keira perked her ears forward and licked her own nose. Now that she had caught the bunny, she didn't know what to do with it. It was young and helpless..much like she was when her family was taken from her. She knew what it felt like to be defenseless as this and she decided to allow Sapphira to choose their reaction to this humble tragedy.
-
Her stomach practically yelling at her by now she slid off Keira's back and sat down next to her. Looking at the trembling bunny she sighed. "I'm hungry but its just a baby, we can find something in town. Let's leave her be." She rose up and spun around the sun high in the sky beating it rays down on them. She took a couple steps and glanced back at Keira to see if she was coming, the bunny seeing an opening shot between them and vanished into the brush. Even thou her hunger was great she would have felt horrible if she would have killed the young helpless bunny. "You ready to go explore the town?"
-
She took a second glance at the small bunny before she casually dismissed it. Having heard Sapphire's offer, she thought to herself for a moment. She wasn't aware if the feline knew about her gift but did it really matter. Swiftly she nodded in agreement, Yes, I am. But there is something that I must show you before we go..
It might have been a surprise when she trotted off into the nearest hideaway that was surrounded by a crowd of vegetation and small tree's. It wouldn't take long for Sapphire to see a form of a human body rise to take the wolven's place.
The newly born female would elevate from behind her refuge, her soft digits embracing her arms in a self-hugging manner. Stepping back out of her transforming domain, Sapphire would see a beautiful face no older than 17 step into the growing light. Her wavy hair was a fair as the moon which matched her star kissed hues. Her body was adorned with pale rawhide and snow-white fur that essentially clung to her lithe curves. She didn't have any weapons, except for a small foot long bowie on her side. Bringing herself forward in her companions direction, her rawhide boots gracefully covered the ground..she looked down, hoping that she did not scare her friend. "I think going like this would be better..we will not attract as much attentioon."
-
Sapphira tilted her head slightly looking at her. "What is it you have to show me?" She watched closely as Keira wondered off into the brush. Before she could say another word, Keira shifted into her human form. She straighten back up and grinned. "Yeah I agree." Sapphira took a step towards Keira and like her shifted up. She was wearing a simple white sun dress. The bottom of the dress was embroidered white golden symbols of ray. Her blond hair fell around her shoulders softly framing her face. The symbol that laid between her shoulders now look like a tattoo. She looked down at her dress and ran her hands down it, straightening out any winkles. She then returned her attention to Keira. She hadn't thought twice about shifting in front of her simple for the fact that she assumed Keira knew. It wasn't every day that you ran across a talking animal. Her mother had taught her about all of her shape shifting cousins. Why they were all made and such. Growing up she had tried to speak with other animals, but they either looked at her like she was stupid or ran. That's when her mother stepped in and taught her about the difference between shifters and normal animals.
-
She was not as fortunate as her new companion when it came to receiving schooling from her parents..however, she knew deep down that the world around her would definately offer her a broad education. Soft, silver hues quietly admired the feminine beauty Sapphire had acquired from her transformation. Standing up straight and stretching out her lithe fingers, a warm smile formed on her rosy lips. "Sha'll we then?" She asked calmly as she stepped off into the direction of the nearest town.
Upon her travel's around this territory, she had come across a few faint trails. Whether they were made by hunters or the hunted, she didn't know but it would definately prove useful on their short journey. Sunlight peeked through the high canopy above which clearly highlighted their way through the thick forest. Her leather boots allowed her proper balance since the terrain wasn't always so smooth. Occasionally glancing over her shoulder to make sure Sapphire was still behind her, her keen senses continued to notice every other sound the forest made. If there were squirrels frolicking in the high branches or a large spider crawling beneath the rubbage, she knew about it. It was a saftey mechanism..for both their sakes.
-
Sapphira nodded as she began following Keira. She was use to her human form but felt more at ease in her feline. After a few moments she quicken her pace so that she was walking along side Keira. Her eyes darting around periodically taking in her surroundings. "May I ask where you called home before this?" No sooner had she asked her question did her foot manage to find one of the many holes in the forests floor. Had she been in feline form it would have been no problem, but she was a bit clumsy in this form. As she began to fall forward her hands out of instinct flew out in front of her trying to break her fall. As her weight was shifting forward bending her ankle in a very uncomfortable position she let out a soft yelp.
-
Continuing to descend down the scattered trail, she was pleased to see that Sapphira had finally caught up with her. Even though she was extremely agile as a young wolven coming into her own, she spent more time in her human form so her balance was a lot stronger than most.
When she caught a glimpse of rushing color and movement in her peripheral vision, she spoke instinctually as her body instantly snapped into action. "Whoa there," Tensing her knee's to brace her weight and twisting her body, her hands flew out to capture Sapphira's falling form. Her arms immediately wrapped around her petite waste, hopefully allowing Sapphira to catch her own weight with the foot that wasn't caught and assist the other with not getting injuried. Looking down at the platinum head of hair, she smiled gingerly..not releasing her until she knew she was alright. "Are you okay?"
-
Sapphira closed her eyes tight as the fell towards the rocks and limb covered ground bracing for impact. Much to her surprise she stopped mid fall, she narrowly opened one eye looking at Keira who had caught her. Her cheeks began to flush almost instantly. "Yeah thanks to you." She said quietly as she twisted her ankle the other direction trying to unwedge it. "You dummy, watch where you are going! Perfect way to start a friendship, showing her how clumsy you are!!" She thought to her self as she righted her mistake. Once she was free of the hole she straighten back up slipping from Keira's grasp. "Thank you, I guess I wasn't watching where I was going." Her ankle was a bit tender from being bent at a odd angle but for the most part it was fine. She ran her fingers thru her soft platinum locks and pulled it back into a ponytail, a lone strand failed to be capture in her attempt and fell down around her face. She looked back to Keira. "Ready to set off again? Promise I won't attempt that again." She said with a lite laugh.
-
There was a moment of silence as Sapphira lifted her body up and away from her captor's embrace. Through the flushed cheeks and shy smile, Keira's icy hues lightened in colour and her pale lips peeled back into a smile of adoration.
"I'm glad you are not hurt." She said briefly before nodding once more. "Yes, the town is not far off." From afar, she heard the rustling of an awakening town. The merchants were getting their shops ready, restocking their bins with fresh produce and other items of interest. It was a slow morning though..she could somehow tell by the rising sun.
Greeting Sapphira with another look of encouragement, she set off again. This time pacing herself down the mountain, just in case another rescue was in order.
-
Still a bit embarrassed by her demostaration but more irritated at herself the redness slowly started to fade. She retook her place next to Keira. Her eyes darting back and forth in front of her, watching the ground to make sure she didn't repeat her performance. Even thou she was watching were she was going every now and then she found herself captivated by how graceful Keira moved. She seemed so at ease in her human form like it was her only one. And even thou they had slowed their pace for her benefit it wasn't long before the were at the entrance to town.
-
OOC: Sorry for the delay..I have a had a lot of stuff going on irl lately. =/
Cascading down the mountain, her grace and stamina prevailed. Her acknowledgement of the world around them exceeded most and when they reached the belly of the rocky terrain it stretched out even further.
Silver hues glistened in the rising sunlight and her pale lips peeled back into an unsure smile. Looking over her shoulder towards Sapphira, admiring the young female's intricate beauty before nodding her head. "Stay close." She said before cautiously setting off into the maw of this small town.
The streets were filled with merchants trying to sell their product. Between the meats, fruits, vegetables, poultry, grains and other odd items for sale, she didn't know which one would peak her interest. These type's of food wasn't necessarily her forte and it clearly showed. And even though she was as eased as could be within her human form..the two-leggers themselves were quite foreign to her. So when she saw little children scurrying around like pups in despair, she stared at them aimlessly..as if in a daze. Questions and wonder meandered in the back of her adolescent mind and she seemed to squirm with an inner excitement. She wanted to chase them..tackle them..pin them down..
Basically, to join the fun.
-
*It's alright irl comes first something we all know and understand.*
Once they were inside Keira glanced back telling her to stay close. She nodded with a smile. She had always watched human from a distance. This was the first time she had been among them in her human form. She she was a bit uncomfortable here so she stayed fairly close to Keira's side. She like Keira looked around at all the vendors and the merchandise they had to sell
One had drawn her attention that she started to walk towards. Suddenly from behind her one of the kids that had been running around fall against her startling her. She jumped forward as she spun around a fairly loud hiss rang out past her lips. The child's eyes doubled in size as he stared at her. Obviously as startled as she was by her reaction.
The child took off hearing his mother calling his name. She glanced at Keira and laughed softly. Her cheeks once again surrender to the rush of blood that consumed them. A half smile tugged at the corner of her lip as she looked down thinking of how silly she looked.
-
It was pure instinct. The moment she heard commotion stirring behind her, she snapped around swiftly with her hands held out to her sides. Her lips were curled in a sneer and her eyes glimmered with a deep focus, yet however long it took to pull this whole look together..was how long it took for it to dissapate.
The child had already scrambled off in fright and she squirmed out of the youth's way. Standing back up, she moved in Sapphira's general direction..her legs a bit weak from her sudden reaction. Placing a gentle hand on her companion's back, she smiled gingerly and giggled a bit herself before taking a deep breath. "Kids." She murmured quietly before letting her silver hues land on Sapphira's once more. "Are you okay?"
-
She could already see it, how much time she would spend embarrassing herself in front of her new friend. She took a deep breath and looked back up briefly nodding her head. "Just never really been this close to humans, at least not like this." She said in a whisper. "But I know I have to get use to it now, might take a little longer than I thought."
She reached up and lightly touched Keira's arm as she rested it on her back. Her cheeks still red as she looked around at all the people staring at her. Her strange reaction seem to be drawing attention. She looked back at Keira her heart finally slowing down returning to normal.
Even thou she was physical better than all these humans faster, stronger more agile she still feared them. She knew of their history but how to interact with them she was at a lose. Everything that was normal and comforting to them was so strange and unsettling to her.
Of course if they knew what she really was she would be branded a freak. Her only comfort was that she was not alone. She had someone that was very much like her and understood not only what she had been thru but what she was, an oddity of nature.
-
"It's okay, I'm here for you." She whispered as she took a step closer. Feeling the placement of Sapphira's hand, she responded instinctively by overlapping it with her left hand. Glancing over her shoulder to reassure her dear friend with a smile, "Come on."
Allowing her hand to gently grip Sapphira's, she merely offered it to her to hold. She did not wish to offend her, so even if she didn't wish to do such things..there would be no quarrel on this end.
Moving back into the crowd, her lips pursed together heavily in focus. Her stomach grumbled to her, asking to be fed and she had started to think that maybe she should have taken the young rabbits life. But all in all, the essence of raw meat lingered in the air and as they traveled down the busy street..she started to move towards the humble kiosk.
-
Sapphira returned the smile that Keira offered as well as her hand. She took a deep breath looking around as they started off again. The people that had been staring now going on with their business. Like nothing had ever happen. Relieved not to be the center of attention she followed closely to Keira.
A soft rumble came from Keira's stomach about the same time as hers decided to pipe up. She chuckled glancing to Keira. "My thoughts exactly." Sapphira noticed the kiosk that drew Keiras attention but the vendor next to it was what caught hers. Loads of fresh fish laid piled on the cart. Ice packed snugly around the fish to keep them from spoiling.
Her tongue slipped from her mouth licking her lips as she eyed the savory treat. The raw meat that Keira sought out looked appetizing but the fish looked even better. She raised her free hand up to the top of her dress, retrieving a small coin purse. It wasn't much but there was enough to feed the two girls. "My treat." She said with a smile as she looked towards Keira. "The least I can do for my rescuer." Her hand still gripping Keira's as they approached the kiosk.
-
Hand in hand, they approached the dual vendors. The essence of lingering blood, fresh meat and icy fish seemed to be talking to the both of them. It was almost to the point where she had to force herself not to change into her wolven form. She wanted to become that theif in the night, causing distinct fear in these humans..
Her canines started to bare as her focus became fierce. Yet as they had come so close, she suddenly heard the sweet voice of Sapphira. It chimed like an Angel's ring in her ears, pulling her back to her sanity. Silver hues glistened as she glanced at Sapphira, smiling softly. For some reason, she felt a certain warmth in her heart as she looked at the young beauty. She didn't understand as to why she felt this kind of emotion..she just met her..
"Thank you.." She said finally, blushing a bit at being called her rescuer. Still holding her hand she followed her feline friend..waiting for her to make the order. She was sure whatever Sapphira bought would be just fine to satisfy her belly.
-
The closer they had got the more she could see Keira leaning in towards the fresh cut meat. But she looked back as Sapphira spoke, she chuckled a bit. "Now that's a first, you blushing instead of me." She grinned and nudged her. She looked at the vendors pointing out the fresh fillet of tuna and one of the larger cuts of lean steak.
Both vendors wrapped the precious meats in paper before handing them to the young girls. Sapphira quickly counted out the proper amount into the hands of each vendor.
The smell of the two intertwined creating a very interesting aruoma. She looked at Keira. "Where to now?" The streets were being to get very busy at this point. And undoubtedly they would draw quite a bit of attention if they sat down to eat there raw meats.
Glancing around looking for a place where they could eat she slipped the coin purse back to its resting place. Her fingers wrapped around the fresh chuck of fish, only a thin piece of paper saving it from being devoured at the moment.
-
Taking hold of the neatly wrapped steak, the aroma of the meat caused her mouth to water. Oh yes, her hunger was nearly over bearing, it had been at least twenty four hours since she last put something in her stomach. Upon Sapphira's question, she began to look around to a safe haven for them to eat without making them look like a bunch of measley rats.
But to no prevail..
There seemed to be humans at every corner, conversating or just going about their daily chores. Having noticed a break between buildings, she lightly squeezed Sapphira's hand before moving towards the alley. "Over here," her footsteps hastened a bit, but not enough to where she would leave her dear friend behind.
Slipping into the shadow and to the back of the buildings, she then glanced towards Sapphira once again..obviously changing back into her wolven form. "We will not appear as odd in our animalistic forms..if we are seen that is."
Large snow-white paws were now placed on the brown paper that blanketed the fresh meat. Her elongated canines ripping at it to get to the goods, but after taking a bite she would look up to Sapphira, swallowing the piece of meat. "Please..eat your food. I will keep watch until you are finished.."
Triangular ears perked forward on her massive skull as she peeked around the corner. Luckily nobody had noticed them enter the alleyway and if there were anybody who strayed..they would find one enormous wolf at their feet.
-
Sapphira still looking around as she felt Keira squeeze her hand when she found a place for them to hide. She quickly followed, her stomach growling louder by the second. Almost to the point were humans passing by would have had no problem hearing the rumbling.
The scent of the fish teasing her senses. her eyes fluttering close as she blindly followed Keira. It had been so long since she had fresh fish. Living off mice and small animals. It was enough to keep her alive but not satisfied.
With her eyes closed she lightly ran into Keira as she stopped her opening snapping herself out of her little daydream. She grinned as Keira shifted down following suite behind her. The fish dropping to the ground as her body shed her human form. Briefly glancing up at Keira she nodded before her paws were tearing the fish from the wrapping.
She had already filled her mouth with the tender fish when she heard Keira speak again. She finished the bite in the mouth before answering. "No do not wait for me." She could hear her stomach just as loudly as her own. "If someone does round the corner, you really think they would dare venture farther after seeing you. Most of the humans here are women and children they wouldn't dare take you on. If so then they are foolish." Even thru her feline form a half grin could be seen on her face.
She leaned her head down and nudged the cut of meat closer to Keira. "Eat." A soft but steady purr emanating from her throat as she smiled at her.
-
Listening to Sapphira, her platinum hues fell on the shifted slab. With her ears rolling like sonar's, she raised her paw and placed it on the steak. Enormous then clamped the meat, tearing at it with massive force. Every now and again she shook her head, emitting a deep rustling growl. It was all in a day's eating session.
It didn't take long for her to devour her meal and as her head rose, her black tongue ran across her lips to purge her lips of the access blood. Hearing some nearbye noises, she once again took a glance around the corner only a see a pair of older males rummaging through the dumpster.
It didn't look like they were of any harm..just scavenging like any other creature looking to survive in this world. A low growl was released showing her disapproval, taking a glance to Sapphira she spoke again. There are humans down the way..I do not know if they mean any harm. Perhaps it is about time that we move on.
-
Once Keira went back to eating so did she, the fish vanishing rather quickly. She sat there licking her paw running it over the muzzle, cleaning. As she was cleaning up after her meal she heard Keira growl, her paw freezing on her nose. She looked up at her, pushing with her hind legs she was beside Keira in a matter of seconds.
"There are humans down the way..I do not know if they mean any harm. Perhaps it is about time that we move on." Keira said as Sapphira ducked between her legs looking at the men. Even thou she was larger than most house cats, her head barely touched Keira's chest.
She looked up at her nodding her head. "Yeah I think your right." Her voice muffled by her purr. She slid out from under Keira and took a few steps back into the alley out of sight. "Where do you want to go thou?" She asked as she shifted. The snow white pellet that blanketed her body vanished, giving way to her soft fare skin.
(Sorry if I end up double posting here and there, my comp seems to hate me at the moment.)
-
Even as Sapphira stepped back and away, her fierce gaze never left the homeless duo. Her body was rather tense and muscles seemed frozen in time. Then her dear friend spoke and she shifted into reserve, sneaking back a couple feet before turning her head to look at her feline companion as she reformed onto two legs.
I'm not sure. Shape shifting back into her human form, she once again stood a decent height from the ground. Taking a look around, she motioned for Sapphira to follow her as she motioned down towards the next alleyway. "I suppose we should go out there? Or do you wish to go back to the forest?" Her hues glittered passively as she glanced at Sapphira in the corner of her eye.
-
Sapphira nodded and fell in behind Keira as they made their way thru the alley. "I suppose we should go out there? Or do you wish to go back to the forest?" Keira said. Sapphira looked up at the setting sun before looking to Keira. "Well it is getting late, I don't know about you but I would feel safer in the comfort of the forest." She said as her hands run along her arms, a cool breeze nipping at her skin.
"There was a small cave just to the south of town. I found it the other day when I was out exploring. There's also a waterfall by the cave as well." The streets were starting to clear, a different crowd replacing the old. Instead of mothers and children, men roaring about their days work sloshing their ale filled mugs roamed the streets.
Thankfully none of them had noticed them, the shadows of the alley hiding them. One of her hands dropped to her side tracing along the raised pattern along the hem of her dress. She stood close to Keira her eyes glued to the closest set of drunken fools that pasted them. Her voice nothing more than a soft whisper. "It is up to you, but where ever we go we might want to hurry."
Sapphira had never had to fight a day in her life but as she looked at the possible threat she imagined what it would be like to fight. Her finger moving faster over the design as her thoughts raced. Her nails razor sharp sliced thru the delicate cloth and into her flesh. She gasped at the sudden onset of pain. Looking down to see a small trail of blood running down her leg.
-
Lord Tiberius Validrir, vassel of the light god Talingue, and Paladin god of valor over the realm of Calgoa. This was his name and title, yet for all of his greatness and his very active role in the ruling of his land, some of the smaller settlements tended to drift into iniquity. And so he came to this village, personally to inspire good into the hearts of these people. he and an escort of his archangels landed in the middle of the town, quite the spectacle. He with his great wings of golden light and the angels in their shining armor. As he landed the wings fell into a golden dust and vanished, his angels simply folding their's back. He stood at 6'4 with his broad shoulders draped in his dark blue robes. His handsome face was smooth and unblemished, his golden hair brushed back. He had a short goate that was well trimmed and cared for, and his eyes were of the very deepest blue and held a kindess that cannot be described by mere words. Lord Validrir had come here in the night so that he may observe the people before making his presence known out right.
-
Her moonlit hues illuminated as the rounded star began to rise in the evening sky. Had the day gone by that quickly? She asked herself. Her acute hearing picked up on the men who were now getting off work, the essence of liquor was littered on their breath like a dump on a hot summer day. Curling her upper lip into a sneer, she then took a small glance back to Sapphira. Swiftly noticing the blood trickling down her knee, she turned to face her with a look of concern on her face. They had to get out of here.
âI think it would be better if we stayed in our animalistic forms. We can move quicker..â She nodded slightly before shape-shifting back into her wolven form. Her snow-kissed pelt shown bright against the dying daylight and her triangular ears stayed alert with constant movement. Come along, Sapphira. We must not waste any time. If anybody comes near us, let me handle it. Just keep going..I will follow. With her hackles rising a bit on her shoulders, she put her head low and began to make her way down the alley. It was unfortunate that this was their only way to go, but she was optimistic that they would not be stopped.
We are to go to the cave. Please..pace yourself..but be quick. Donât look back. She glanced at her once more, waiting for an understanding.
-
Sapphira looked up at Keira her hand placed over the cut on her leg. She briefly nodded before her attention was drawn back to the commotion that was closing in on them. She stumbled back a few feet before she shifted down. Fear beginning to replace her curiosity. Turning swiftly she ran to Keira's side her heart starting to race
Some of the men stumbled drunkly down the same alley where they retreated. One seeing the two animals sent a bottle flying thru the air towards them. It landed behind Sapphira shattering at her feet, startling her. It sent Sapphira herself flying thru the air, the hair on her back standing on end. "Just keep going..I will follow." Keira's words rang out in her mind.
Sapphira pushed her legs as hard as she could, running. Before long she realized that she no longer knew where she was. She skidded to a halt as she rounded another corner. Her heart pounding so hard that it felt like it would jump from her chest at any moment. She peered around the corner looking for Keira, hoping she was okay. She had ran so far that she could no longer hear the drunken crowd.
She slowly crept out of the alley staying close to the ground. But no matter how hard she tried to stay hidden it was fairly difficult. Her snow white pelt standing out like a sore thumb in the darkness. In the center of town she saw a group of men, quite a bit larger than most she had seen here. And even thou they didn't seem as threating as te others she still kept her distance.
"Keira where are you?" She called out in her mind
-
The shattered glass rang like chimes in her ears. Startling her as well, she sprung back a bit in a small hop..her silver hues falling on the disorderly men. Curling her upper lip, she flashed her fangs and emitted a growl in a mild warning. The men, as intoxicated they had become, were still not drunk enough to play cat and mouse with an overgrown, pissed off lupine.
Once she saw them start to back away, which only took seconds..she bolted off following the unique scent trail Sapphira left behind. Her longer strides carried her a greater distance and her stamina was not as weakened..maybe because she didn't have to work so hard.
With the fading crowd dying off into the distance, it didn't take long for her to swing around the corner almost running right into Sapphira. I'm here. Are you alright? She thought about picking her up to carry her like a mother to a cub just to save Sapphira's energy but she decided against it for obvious reasons. Halting at her side, she spoke again. We have to keep moving. Do you know where the cave is from here?
-
"Move to the county hall." Validrir instructed the angels who went without question. One by one they vanished into the large domed structure which sat just off the city center. Raising his head he looked of into the night he senced a strange presence in the town, one with which he was not familiar. Setting off through the buildings he followed the sent of the odd power.
-
With her attention still on the group of men that stood in the center of town Sapphira didn't notice Keira rounding the corner. To be honest she hadn't noticed anything but them. They were different than the humans. So when Keira skidded to a halt in front of her, her reaction was much like the night they first met.
Her fur standing on end, her back arched as s hiss slipped thru clinched teeth. No sooner than the sound faded into the night did she hear Keira's voice. Her voice was soothing to Sapphira, she knew with her there she didn't have to worry. She gently nudged Keira with her muzzle. "Yes I am fine, sorry about me being so skiddish."The panic was slowly starting to fade from her voice. "I guess that's something I'll have to work on if were going to be around humans."
She glanced around trying to get a sense of where she was. "I think I can find the cave from here." She slowly started down the street, her tail flicking back and forth grazing Keira's side to make sure she was close. Sapphira carefully peering around each corner making sure she didn't run into any more unexpected surprises. It took her a little longer to find her way out of the city.
But once she was free of the city her body relaxed, along with her mood. It was clear that she felt more at ease with nature rather than a crowded city. Her step quickened but she was also becoming more playful. Playfully swatting at Keira before darting ahead, laughing. She knew she couldn't out run her companion. Sapphira couldn't help herself, she found herself from time to time staring at Keira. Admiring her beauty and grace in both her wolven and human form. Quickly looking away, her cheek growing when she would get caught.
They were heading in the right direction, but Sapphira was to occupied with playing and other thoughts to notice how close they were. She turned to look where she was going and stopped just in time before she went flying into the cold spring water that rushed over the cliff face.
-
A softened smile formed on her muzzle when she saw Sapphira's reaction. "Don't worry about it." Giggling quietly to herself as her kitten meandered off to the alleyway. Turning to follow her with her own figure creeping low to the ground, the pads on her paws adding traction and silence to her every step.
It wasn't before long that hard gravel and stone turned into soft dirt, grassy terrain and flourishing tree's. A certain hearth was growing deep inside of her with each passing moment she spent with Sapphira.
A playful swat broke her concentration of admiration and she leapt forth with an extra bounce in her step. Carefully trailing behind her, she always seemed to let her get ahead before bursting forward with an renewed energy.
Flying through a bush, she came hauling in a dead run. This time, she wasn't going to get away! Laughter elevated from her as she rushed towards her, only to find herself flying head first into the crystal-clear surface of the lake.
Water engulfed her completely and her breath was taken from her. The change was instaneous and almost instinctive as she broke the surface. Her soaked silver strands clung to her face before she threw them back and freed her visage. Her bare hands brushed the rippled water and her toned legs kept kicking to keep her a float. Platinum pools then looked around to lock onto Sapphira..a smile being brought to her rosy lips. "Looks like we found the waterfall.." She grinned before leisurely drifting back to the bank where her dear beauty stood. Rising from the water, the lake still hugging her hips..she lifted her right hand out before her, offering it to Sapphira. "Care to join me?"
-
Validrir moved swiftly through the town's streets as he followed the odd power. Soon he was at the edge of the forest and the end of the town. With out so much as a moment's hesitation he continued, the trees bending back out of his way. as he entered the forest Validrir's form began to change. He began to shine very brightly untill he could no longer be seen at all from with in the light. Soon though, the light faded and there in his place trotted a large griffin. His feathers were the most brilliant white and his fur a wonderful, rich gold. In fact the only thing the same about him, were his deep blue eyes.
With a leap and a bound, Validrir took to the sky and soared over the forest below. he followed the scent of the power until he saw a great waterfall which poured into a beautiful lake. There in he saw two beings, women it seemed. Yet he knew they were more. He flew over head and circled down into the trees near by. Landing softly he watched to gain an idea of who they were.
-
Sapphira chuckled a bit as Keira went flying over her, water splashing on her as she broke the surface of the water. Cocking her head slightly , she thought for a moment before jumping in. She sailed gracefully over Keira's head, her paws stretched out in front of her. Changing as she disappeared into the water.
The only break from the creeping darkness was the stars that dotted the sky and the fireflies flitting about. Sapphira glided thru the water finally resurfacing, rings rippling outwards from her as she broke the surface. Her long blond hair framed her face and down around her shoulders. Her arms pulling herself towards Keira, her feet making contact with the soft sand.
The simple white sun dress that she wore now plastered to her slender frame. She smiled as she stepped right behind her, so that when she turned they would be nose to nose. Sapphira's entire body shaking not only from the cold.
-
The autumn chill on the water caused goosebumps to adorn her pallid flesh. However, whatever temperature of the lake may have been..all of that seemed to be forgotten as she turned to face Sapphira. Even the faint Gryphon that was observing the duo wasn't even noticed..in her mind, it was just the two of them and that is how she wanted it to remain.
With their noses almost touching, it could have been an awkward moment for her..but for some reason, that strange feeling never truly set in. She noticed the youthful beauty before her shivering and instinctively, she brought her soaked hands to Sapphira's cloth covered shoulders and rubbed them caringly in attemp to warm her..despite how helpless the attempt was.
Her weight shifted into the lake bed, her toes sinking into the sand. Their figures were so close to one another, was this appropriate? Was it right? "Sapphira.." Her voice trailed off as she pulled her moonlit gaze away and towards the rippling water..her cheeks flushing with color. For once she didn't know what to say or what to do..but she did know one thing.
Even when she was all wet, Sapphira managed to put even the most lusted after woman to shame. Her beauty was so fair, her mystical hues glistened like the night sky..and her skin was so soft..
So soft..
-
Sapphira smiled again when Keira blushed for a second time. It was a pleasant change not to be the one blushing. Keira's hands rested on her shoulders trying to warm her body, to stop her from trembling. Thou the thought of the chilled water that consumed almost half of her body seemed unimportant at the moment. A single silver lock fell down caressing Keira's lips. She raised a hand brushing it from Keira's face, her finger tips lightly grazing her cheek. She took a step closer bridging the distance between their bodies.
Her heart began to race, which seem to be a regular occurrence these days. But this time it was good, she felt like she was floating. Their bodies pressed against each other as she stared into Keira's captiving silver hues. She leaned in close but hesitated for a moment wondering if Keira wanted the same ting. Seconds later her feelings overrided her brain and their lips touched. Her heart fluttered, skipping a few beats. The kiss was only brief before Sapphira pulled back her eyes still closed and her cheeks now matching Keira's.
She dropped her head for a moment not wanting to met Keira's gaze, she hoped that she hadn't stepped out of line. She had never had these feelings for anyone before let alone another women. It went against everything she was ever taught, but it felt right to her. But did Keira feel the same way? Had she just lost the only friend she had? She looked back up at Keira her eyes bright as she stared as the beauty in front of her, hoping.
-
Seconds passed before their eyes and their bodies were drawn closer together. She stood there in the water, possessed by a captivating beauty that was her feline friend. She couldn't move, her body was frozen in time. Not out of fear or nervousness, but a complete devotion to her shy nature.
A brush of her face from Sapphira's gently gliding fingertips caused a smile to breach her pink lips. She couldn't find any words to say, she had never been in this kind of position before.
Then it happened..
Sapphira came so close, that right before their lips touched..she took a deep breath and tensed up her body. Closing her eyes, she intercepted the kiss..her hands resting so tenderly on her shoulders. It was her first kiss ever in her life..and her companions lips tasted incredibly sweet and felt temptingly soft. It seemed to last a lifetime and it was a dissapointment that it had to end so soon. Once their lips parted ways, it took a moment before Keira's silver hues met the cascading moonlight once before gazing down to Sapphira.
She could interpret the casual fear in those gorgoues eyes..but to her dismay, she found herseld speechless. She didn't know what to say to reassure Sapphira of her enjoyment of what they had just shared.
-
Her feet shifted slightly the sand rising up covering her feet. Her eyes were locked with Keira's. Someone could have been dancing around them and she wold have paid them no mind. Keira had her undivided attention. And even thou her lips retreated her body did not. The warmth of Keira's body had taken the chill away but she still trembled.
She stood there not knowing what to do, all she could do was stare into Keira's silver hues. She had acted on her feelings and she hoped that in doing so she hadn't lost her only friend. The silence was to much at that moment for her to take. Softly she cleared her throat. "I'm sorry if stepped out of line."
Her eyes fell watching the ripples in the water. She expected the worse taking a deep breath she looked back to Keira her hands sliding along her arms resting on Keira's hands. "There's just something about you that stirs something inside me and..." Her voice trailed off. She didn't know how to explain how she felt or let alone where to go from there.
Pulling her bottom lip in between her teeth searching to find a way to explain. A sigh slipping from her soft lips. One hand gently squeezing Keiras she brought the other to her cheek, running the back of her fingertips down her cheek. "Please say something." She whispered. Her breathing was slow and stead but her heart still raced. Depending on the words that crossed those soft pink lips would determine if it would explode or simple stop.
-
A certain nervousness washed over her, her lower lip quivered as her crystalline hues stared into Sapphiraâs eyes. Her weight shifted from foot to foot in an unsteady balance. She still didnât know what to say or do. She was a virgin to the art of kissing and still being caught up in the moment, she maintained her shy demeanor.
The tone of Sapphira's voice was that of an angel, yet when a sorrowful apology laced her sentence, it brought a new light into her eyes. Did she truly think she crossed that line of discomfort? Did this lone wolf actually give her that kind of ill-willed signal? Shaking her head kindly, âNo, no..please..â Her own voice trailed off again before bringing the palms of her hands to cup Sapphiraâs jaw line.
âSapphira..â She stumbled over what to say. âPlease, you donât need to apologize. You have not brought any discomfort to me at all. I rather enjoyed what just took place..and I am very much looking forward to being wrapped up in your embrace once again.â Squeezing her hands, she offered a genuine smile.
-
Validrir grew tired of what he saw. it seemed that these two were not going to reviel any of their hidden power on their own. He would have to force their hand. Stretching his great legs, he got down into a readied stance and, quick as a wink, bounded out of the trees and landed with a thundering crash on the shore. A piercing screech emitted from his beak as he stood there in in his magestic Griffin's form. He would see who these two were.... One way, or another.
-
A soft smile tugged at the corners of her lips, Keira's words comforting her. Another sigh slipped past her lips but it was a sigh of relief. Her hands framing Keira's, she started to lean in but a thunderous crash came from behind them. Sapphiras first reaction was to run but this time she stood her ground. Her arms wrapping around Keira's slender form.
Even thou she had never fought she felt like she had to protect Keira. Knowing that Keira shared the same feelings she wasn't about to let anyone or anything take that from her. Sapphira knew that she had other forms beside her human and feline but never had a use for them, until now.
Sapphira took a deep breath as quickly pushed Keira behind her. Lowering herself into a crouching position she growled softly at the large beast that stood before them. Within a matter of seconds her form exploded as she launched herself into the air. Landing between her companion and the griffin.
Slowly she rose up to her full height which had doubled. Her body covered in a thick white fur which resembled an over grown human. Her strength along with her body had also doubled. She stared at the creature in front of her, her voice much deeper than before. "Leave us be." Her fist were clenched tightly ready for that fight she feared would come.
Her clawed feet dug into the soft ground below, anchoring herself. She meant this beast no harm but she wasn't going to run this time.
-
The tranquility of this meeting was quite perfect, she had never thought anything like this could ever happen to her. Yet as she continue to stand on cloud nine, the reality of their situation came crashing down on them in a horrid, high-pitched scream.
The siren of the griffin pierced her ears and instantly made her jump in surprise. Firmly holding onto Sapphira, she turned her head only to see an odd looking creature running at them in a huge bolt of fury. Even though she had become momentarily warped in fear, she felt a certain curiosity building up inside of her..but all that dissapeared when she was shoved deeper into the water by her dearest companion.
Watching Sapphira place herself inbetween she and the apparent danger, she didn't know what to do. They each had their own means to protect eachother, so instead of letting Sapphira stand in the spotlight alone..Keira forced herself out of the water in her human form and join her by her side.
Unintimidated but intrigued by Sapphira's new form, she took a glance at her before turning her gaze towards the winged creature. Despite being soaked from head to toe, she firmly gripped the handle of her small dagger and unsheathed it from it's holster. Holding it boldly in her right hand, she didn't have anything to say to the griffin.. but then again, what would you say to an overgrown, manipulated bird? (That is what he looks like to her anyway.)
-
The massive griffin's head cocked to the side as he looked at the two in front of him. One now a mixture of human and wolf, the other still just a young woman. Changelings perhaps? His large round eyes lost their fiersome quality and became kind and warm once again. His deep resounding voice echoed across their minds as he addressed them.
"What are your names young ones?"
-
There she stood ready to fight her nerves shot. The creatures entire demeanor seem to change and along with it so did hers. His eye warm and his voice as kind as Keira's when she first heard it. She slowly began to take a couple steps towards him, her massive feline form melting away. And although he didn't seem to want to hurt them she was still careful.
She stopped a few feet back from the griffin but within arms reach of him. Her head slightly cocked and her arm beginning to reach out for him. "My name is Sapphira and this is my companion Keira." Her eyes glancing back briefly as she said her name. Her fingertips brushed lightly against his feathers before recoiling back to her body.
She had never seen anything like this before and her mother had never spoke of it either. Now that they weren't in any danger her curiosity to full hold of her. "What are you? Slipped from her soft pink lips as she took another step forward. One hand rested on her chest debating whether or not to touch the creature again. Her other stretched behind her searching for Keira's hand.
-
Validrir watched as the being before him melted back into a human form. She said her name was Sapphira and her companion was named Keira. She asked what he was and a deep chuckle eminated from within his chest, sounding not unlike rolling thunder.
"Well, that question could have several answers. Do you wish to know what I am, or what I appear to be?" He looked from one t the other as he spoke through his mind. "The form I have taken is that of a griffin, a mighty creature of the air and land. My actual identity is... well, perhaps I should show you." Validrir's form began to shine with light that intensified until he could not be looked at directly. Soon though the light faded and there he stood as he had before, in the shape of a man. "My name is Tiberius Validrir, and I am..." He stopped short, unsure of whether to reveil his actual identity. Making up his mind in an instant he smiled. "Well, I'm a wizard from the capital of Vertalin'thral."
-
A powerful sensation came over her as she observed this beast of a bird. Observing the large talons and fierce features, she remained in awe at the unique beauty that it portrayed. However despite its best tendecies, she could still feel the vapor of arrogance roll off his shiny, feathery cloak.
He eventually introduced himself and started to shape shift in a few other forms before deciding on a shadowed human figure. Did he find it humurous that he just shattered a special moment for this eccentric duo? He failed to appeared shunned by his rude interuption and because of his unusual behavior, Keira continued to remain unappreciative of this man's chosen actions. It was almost as if he just wanted to get their attention, like a child throwing a tantrum to get notice from his parents. Wouldn't a more welcoming approach have worked just as well?
"What do you want?" Speaking quite offensively, she did not let down her guard, even as Sapphira approached him with a cute and innocent curiosity.
-
Validrir looked to Keira his smile not loosing an ounce of its charm and he answered.
"What do I want? Well you must forgive me my curiosity, but all I want it to know what you are and where you came from. You are not human, though you may appear to be one at times, nor are you anything else you take the guise of. I'm sorry, but I've never met anything quite like you."
-
At first the light was soft and gentle. But as it began to intensify she backed away from him. Her eyes closed tightly, small wrinkles forming on the bridge of her nose. She bumped into Keira causing her to stop. Her hand quickly found its way to Keira's. Upon reopening her eyes she saw the man from town.
Hearing Keira's tone she chuckled slightly. Looking over at her she smiled and gently nudged her. With her fingers still intertwined with Keira's she turned back to face Validrir. "Your the guy I saw in town." The adrenaline finally started to wear off it wasn't long before she was reminded of how cold she was. It didn't help that her dress was still wet and plastered to her small frame. Water dripped from her hair falling onto her collar bone.
The wind rustled thru the trees showering them in leaves. "Why don't we continue this conversion inside the cave. There should still be some firewood from when I was here the other night." Her body was trembling as she pressed herself against Keira. To the others the climate would have been fine, but she was use to desert weather. Where in the nineties it was considered cool. She just hoped that her body would adjust to the cooler climate before too long.
Without surrendering her hold on Keira's hand she turned and retreated for the shelter of the cave. The opening between the rock face and rapid rushing water was narrow. The two girls would be able to shimmy thru without disturbing the flow of water. But Validrir being quite a bit large than them was sure to receive a bath. The mouth of the cave reached upwards of twelve feet and slowly descended farther in you got. At the very back it split off into several tunnels leading deep underground.
Sapphira hadn't yet muster up the courage to explore them. There was no telling what lied in wait down there. A small stone circle sat in the middle of the room, half burnt wood cluttered inside. Letting go of Keira's hand she knelt down beside the circle and picked up to small stones. She struck them together several times sending a showers of sparks cascading down over the wood.
Her lips pursed as she lightly blew giving birth to the fire. The flames began to enveloped the wood sending up a smoke screen. She sat close to the fire her hands extended outwards while she tried to warm up. She stared at the fire for a moment as it danced to life. Finally she returned her attention to the others. "I understand your curiosity, but why did you choose that entrance?" Curiosity was one thing she definitely understood, in some case her curiosity got her in quite a bit of trouble. I guess you could use the saying. Curiosity killed the cat, or at least in her case almost killed the cat.
"Wouldn't it have been better with a less confrontational entrance?" Her eyes scanned over him, she wondered but he was. She had study many things and many kinds of shifters. But never once had see read anything about a person being able to shift into a griffin as he called it. And it was obvious that he wasn't just a mere mortal. Endless possibility ran rapid thru her mind.
-
Validrir followed them to the cave and saw as they moved between the streams of falling water. He walked forward and went directly into the cave. The water hit him but did not stay, rather it beaded up and rolled off of him. Validrir moved further into the cave and stood by a wall as Sapphira made a fire. She asked him why he had made his pressence known to them as he did. He tilted his head to the side as he thought.
"I suppose that I thought your reaction would give me a clue into your true nature, and it did. I know know you to be able to change your shape at will. Perhaps you are a changling, but I do not know for sure." He thought a bit longer. "I suppose it was rather rash of me, I apologise for the fright." He stood for a bit longer before speaking again. "So what exactly are you any how? Where did you come from?"

OOC: Lord Validrir, with all due respect. Can we please stick to the posting order? I find it odd that you are interacting with two characters ICly, but you decide to post after only one of us has posted. Does the other matter? Or are we not posting fast enough for you? *smirks*
IC:
Never releasing her gaze from his figure, she felt an qualm settling into the depths of the forest. At the gentle bump and embrace of her hand, Sapphira guided her adoringly towards the hidden caverns behind the waterfall. The cool water created a soft chill that ran through her body, with her clothes still soaked it didn't help much. But even to her own dismay, being with Sapphira made the suffering worth while.
When the fire sparked to life creating a glowing hearth, she sank to the icy ground and nearly hovered over the welcomed flames. Yet due to the sunless veil that seemed to cling to her skin, her body shivered and she felt her body yearn for a physical change. Unable to reinforce her own stubborn will, her body instantly shifted back down to her wolven form. Her silver pelt glistened against the dancing fire and her moonlit hues sparkled with a distant delight. It felt good to be wrapped inside the blanket of fur, her own flesh and bones gaining their feeling back.
Her triangular ears perked and flirted off the top of her massive skulls like sonars while she rose to all fours. Enormous paws pitter- pattered stealthily across the moistened floor of the cave, joining Sapphira by her side. A certain look of dissapointment lingered in her eyes, not for anything Lord Validrir or Sapphira had done..but the fact that she couldn't hold her human form any longer. It was for her own good, she would tell herself.
I am sorry, Sapphira. Her sweet voice rang, echoing in the ears of her beloved..and it was only meant for her ears. The other would not be able to pick up the conversation.
-
She looked up at Keira as she joined her, smiling softly and placed her hand on the back of her neck. Her fingers ruffling thru her soft pelt. She had no problem in revealing her nature but she would let Keira tell her own, if she so wished. Keira's voice echoed in her head. She shook her head. "Don't apologize." She replied in her mind along with a gentle smile before she kissed her on the forehead. She returned her gaze to Validrir and began to explain herself.
I'm am a bastet more specifically a bubasti. I don't know how long you were watching us but if it was any length of time at all then you saw three of my forms. There's four total that I have, all serving a different purpose. Whether it be speed, power or simple to blend in. I'm an oddity to my race. All those before me while in there feline form are black and in there human form have a dark complexion and dark hair.
My native land is Egypt. Her voice trailed off a bit with her last sentence. It was quite plain that her home was a hard subject for her to talk about. Her hand rose up to her face brushing aside a single tear that fell. Clear her throat she began again. My parents had no choice but to send me here. The fire crackled sending hot embers into the air. She took a deep breath as her bright blue hues fell onto the fire.

OOC: I apologise for my eagerness in posting, though I have never RP'd before with a set order of posting. Is this a regular practice of yours? -arches an eyebrow-
IC: Validrir listened and thought as she answered him he cocked his head to the side and a look of confusion came over him. He had never heard of a Bastet or of this land called Egypt, which was odd concidering how long he'd been around. He waited a moment before asking. "And where is this Egypt?"
-
OoC: A regular practice? Wow, well on the norm..most Rp threads will do what we call turn-based. Basically, if there is a posting order say Me-->Sapphira-->you. Then it will technically stick to that order..unless something happens that the order has to break form, for whatever reason that may be. It's nothing that is mandatory, it is just preferred. *shrugs*
IC:
She admired the confusion that became painted on the man's face. Perhaps he was not as powerful as he claimed and perhaps he did have the ability to show human emotion. It was also rather amusing, but rather than flaunt such things she decided to remain stature and poised. Respectful, by some means.
Listening to Sapphira tell her story, she sat down on her powerful haunches and rolled her shoulders back while posting her head high. As if she were some sort of attack dog waiting for a command. She didn't speak, it wasn't in her nature to throw herself in the fire. So she remained at ease and quiet..waiting for them to finish their conversation.
-
Sapphira inched away from the fire stretching her legs out in front of her. She looked up at him her expression suddenly changed. Her mother used magic to send her away. It wasn't til that moment that she realized she didn't know how to get home. It was like it had been erased from her memory. She didn't really even know where she was just that it was safer here."I.. don't know." The words stuck in her throat as she spoke.
She knew she could never return home but to think it was impossible, the thought was crippling. She had never in her life felt so lost. Her fears screaming, tearing thru her mind. So loud that even Keira and Validrir would hear them as if they were their own thoughts. Her body was frozen as she desperately tried to remember the way home.
-
Validrir fealt the wave of panic and fear with dreadful closeness. Partly because of his telepathic gifts, and partly because it was his nature feel for others and their pain. Comming forward he knealed beside Sapphira and his form began to emmit a soft glow. (holy aura) This light would normally be used to repel the wicked or evil, but for those that are good, as he could tell these two were, it seeps into them and brings calm and contentment. "Have peace my child, there is no reason to fret. Have peace." He said quietly.
-
OoC: Sorry for the delay..A lot of stuff has been going on IRL.
The wave of sorrow washed over her like a blanket, the hollow screams of an inner phobia echoed fiercely in her ears. A moonlit gaze then focused on Sapphira before joining the young beauty by her side. She whimpered, gently placing her muzzle to the nape of Sapphira's neck thus offering a comforting embrace that only a lupine could offer.
Sapphira, it's okay. If you ever wanted to go home.. We will find it together. Really it was all she could say to offer Sapphira some reassurance.
As Validrir's form emmitted the warm and holy glow, she felt an off tingling sensation. Her muscles that were once so tense were now placed in an awkward state of relaxation. Although despite the sudden fixation..her purpose of bringing comfort to Sapphira never left her agenda.
-
Her thoughts were frantic at best, she was on the verge of hyperventilating. She had completely forgotten about the two that stood around her. Tears welling up in her eyes before she remembered she wasn't alone. Her hand instantly rose up to Keira as she placed her mussel on the nape of her neck. Leaning into her she felt a warmth spreading thru her, her breathing slowing.
Even thou she felt a sense of peace now that crippling thought still picked at the back of her mind. She took a deep breath and with her other hand wiped the tears that now began to find their way down her cheeks. "Why would she do that?" Her mother's only fail safe to make sure her daughter stayed out of harms way.
She heard Keira's soft voice echo in her mind and she looked up into her eyes. A half smile tugging at the edges of her soft pink lips as she replied. "Thank you." .
She looked to Validrir her voice barely above a whisper. "Sorry you had to see that, I hadn't really thought about how to get home since I've been here. I guess that was the only way my mother knew I'd be safe. I can't go back if I don't know how to get there. " Sighing she dropped her head looking at the ground.
-
Still the sadness remained and through the apology given to the other, she did her best to offer the adoring comfort that she so willingly extended. Yet even in this time of need, Sapphira's beauty shown through like the sun on a cloudy day.
Slowly standing on all fours with her powerful tail wagging from side to side in attempt to lighten the mood, a wolfish smile eagerly formed on her sable lips. My love, please do not despair. All will get better in due time, I promise you.
Taking a swift glance towards the cascading waterfall at the maw of the cave, her gaze turned back to Sapphira for a moment. Not to change the subject, but are you hungry? I believe there are fish in the pond..Would you like me to bring you some?
-
Taking another deep breath she felt Keira rise up, she quickly shifted her weight so she didn't topple over. Looking up at Keira she managed a half hearted smile when she saw Keira's playful demeanor. Slowly she got to her feet placing her hand on her stomach as a low grumble rang out.
"Yeah something to eat does sound good." She glanced back at Validrir. "We might want to make it enough for three." She said as she looked back at Keira. "Why don't we both go get the food?" She walked over to her and ran her hand down her soft pelt before shifting down beside her.
-
"You needn't worry about me, I can manage. But your thoughtfulness is noted." Validrir said as he moved to the mouth of the cave. With a wave of his hand the water parted and he looked back. "Shall we go?"
-
A half hearted smile was all she could have ever asked for and her tail wagged harder than before. She thought twice as she listened to Sapphira's words and wondered if the fish in the pond would subdue a never ending hunger. Granted, Keira was a big wolf..but she was by no means any match for big game. At least not in this form..
Like Sapphira, she had yet another form that she rarely revealed. It was her 'were' form, where when tranformed she stood over six feet in height..had a massive build, enormous strength and tremendous speed. Somehow though if she told this male that she was going to go hunting, she felt that he would somehow seek to take away her glory. She was still young and had yet to surmount the many tribulations of effective hunting..but she was getting better at it. Barking once in response to Sapphira, she trotted off towards the entrance of the cave, quickly bypassing Valadrir by moving beneath the 'drawn' waterfalls and then drifting off towards the tree's.
Sapphira, We are both hungry and I fear the fish will not be able to ride over our bellies for long. I will go hunt.. Care to join me?
In that moment, she turned her head away and closed her eyes. Her body once again became to change on command, her hindquarters shifted beneath her and her form grew out and elevated. Her forelegs lengthened as her hind, everything got quite a bit bigger. Shaking her head making a "bbbrrrrrr' sound, she stood a good six foot in height..more so in length. Gargantuan paws with 'finger like' appendages stretched before she fell back to all fours as she turned around. Moving up the side of Sapphira, she bowed down with her front end..arching her back. We need to go further into the forest..deer and such will not be so close to the city. Get on..I will carry you if you'd like to come.
Silver tuff's of hair ran down the middle of her neck and through her shoulders like a horse's mane, thus giving Sapphira something to hold if she chose to come along.
-
Watching Keira trot off she followed suit behind her. The cold air slammed into her sending shivers down her spine. She tilted her head looking at Keira. "Yeah i'll join you but not in human form. It's too cold." Shifting up beside her matching her size she let out a soft purr. "Much better." Standing up she bumped Keira with her hip before launching herself into the forest.
-
Sapphira had decided to take her feline form and it didn't take long for them to set off into the forest. Enormous strides carried her swiftly and cunningly through the winding tree's, her silver pelt brushing by the lush plants with a slight 'whoosh'. One could only hear the air..the breeze in the leaves..nothing more than the natural songs of the forest. It didn't take long before she caught wind of a deer..and then the hunt was on.
******
At one point, she had sent a message to Sapphira explaining that she had found their dinner and eagerly set off. She did not run, instead she stalked. Her large paws became grounded to the forest floor, sinking fiercely into the body of mud..thus allowing pure silence. Each movement she made was calculated precisely and her vice-like stare never left her quarry.
Not fifty feet from her, the deer was grazing and was totally unprepared for what was to come. A grim fate provided by the massive jaws of what would be considered a monster.
Yet as Keira continued to close in; a fault. Snap. A twig that seemed to come out of no where shattered beneath her weight and suddenly, her position was blown. The prey in which she had been hunting popped it's head up out of her pure instinct..she didn't have a choice. She had to take it..
Launching herself forward from the depths of the foilage, it had turned into a massive competition of speed and ability. A blur of white..a flash of brown, her talons dug deep for traction, her tail was held out for balance as she leapt onto the back.
Her weight alone caused the deer to stumble, her massive jaws clamping forcefully around the doe's neck. It began to fight, pawing and kicking to the best of it's abilities..but to no avail. Keeping it held down, the screams echoed through out the terrain.
What felt like hours was only minutes..she could feel the life slowly draining from the trembling body. It's alright little one..you will be with your brothers and sister's soon..
She called to her beloved, hopefully she wasn't too far off. Sapphira..come and eat. Dinner is served..
-
Sapphira skidded to a halt her hind legs spinning around leaving her facing the other direction. "That was fast." She replied to Keira as she took off towards her. Her stomach rumbled as she made her way thru the thick foliage of the forest. A small clearing laid ahead were her companion and dinner awaited her. Slowing down she stepped into the clearing.
She gave Keira a nudge with her muzzle to say thank you. Sitting next to her she leaned into her slightly purring softly. "After you dear."
-
Validrir watched as the two rushed off into the woods and vanished. He sat by the water and looked off into the night. In truth he was not hungry and so he would wait. The two beings he'd encountered still interested him and he would like to speak to them somemore.
-
Even as Sapphira approached her, instinct kept telling her not to let the beast in her mouth go. She could still hear the dying heart beat, it was slowing..skipping..but it was still attempting to keep the doe alive. She could feel the creature trembling and falling into a ceisure as it went into cardiac arrest. But alas..she wanted to make sure it was dead before she released it from her vice like grip.
The blood pouring from the inflicted wound washed into her maw causing her jaw to clamp even harder, perhaps a jerk here and there followed by a gruntled growl. She didn't say anything..she was too focused..but all in all, she hoped that Sapphira would start eating while the meat was still fresh.
-
After a few moments Sapphira decided to go ahead and start eating. Her teeth tore thru the deers soft flesh. The meat tearing from the bone as she jerked back. Even with the life drained from the deer it still laid there twitching. The rumbling of her stomach grew fainter the more she ate, purring replacing it. Looking up at Keira her large pink tongue ran along her lips lapping up the blood.
A grin forming on her silvery muzzle as she licked Keir's nose. "Eat my dear."

Ooc: My apologies for the monstrous delay..IRL has had it's icy hand wrapped around me and I have been unable to post. :(
IC:
At last, the creature that was clamped between her jaws of devistation fell into darkness. No longer did she feel the struggle to hold onto what life was left and with the satisfaction of her kill complete, she released the doe from her hold. A thick mixture of blood and saliva drizzled off her maw while she casually surveyed their current surroundings.
Crossing her forelegs over as she surpassed Sapphira, she eventually lay down next to her and began to tear into the stomach of her victim. The essence of the fresh meat and blood could have sent her into a frenzy, but to her own discretion for the beauty sitting next to her. They would feed together; this 'meal' would at last them at least a week..since there was only the two of them.
