she watched Xion go through the portal She looked at Cerden and jumped with him.. durring the short trip she felt as though she was being liqfied and sucked through a straw.. she stumbled when she came back though she dusted herself of shaking a little unused to anything like it "I think in the future I should prefer to walk... no offense to the magcain and his abilitys..." She looked at Xion and then to Cerden looking to where they were now curiously
-
Having experienced this once before, he readily walked through, holding Sharla's hand comfortably, once back in the village, he dusted himself off, and took her hand again. "Dear Sharla, tis hard to walk when we are now in a whole different era in time." As he stood there waiting for his answer he looked around to see the very littel change that had occured in the village. "Sharla, would you like your own quarters, or to stay at mine?"
-
She looked around curiosly... "another time? your joking...." she leaned against him "I will share a quarter if i must.. but wont it look scandalus.. wont people talk?" She looked around the village aprehensively...
-
Yes another time, that is why i suggested bringing your mare, of course i should have mentioned that before i suppose. As for scandalousness, and others, why should it matter." He stood there waiting for look on her face to change.
-
She bit her lip seeming to think "your right.. no court here so why bother with court mannors yes i would be fine staying with you Lord Cerden.. I trust you can behave as a gentlman" she smiled
-
"Yes, there are two beds, so i assure you, nothing strange should happen." He nodded to Xion for a moment. "Is there anything you need right now Xion, or can i show her to her new quarters?"
-
A slight sigh came from him at what her reactions were, his little secret would remain within himself as he continued to move towards his own residence before his head tilted to the left at the sound of Cin's voice. "No, Have fun with her. The disturbances that took place at the ball have set us back a bit, everything will be fine soon, so you two have fun" He said as he entered his own home, removing the mask from his face as he placed it on the shelf next to the door, his hands moved to the pouch's that held his weapons as he removed them only to place them on the shelf next to his mask, Failed experiments. Such a lovely time.
-
She looked at Xion a little anoyed at his coment then turned to Cirden.. "well then shall we?
-
"I guess we shall." Keeping his mask on still to hide his face since Sharla still wore his cloak, he grasped her hand and began to lead her through the village. Showing her the different houses along the way, some in ruin. As his quarters came into veiw he pointed at it to show her. He was proud of his quarters, he hadnt ever taken much care to take care of the outside of it. Until now, he had never cared what others thought of his quarters.
As he led her inside he showed her around, He took her to the back bedroom to show her his room, then took her to the front bedroom. "This would be your bedroom, I hope it will be comfortable." He then kissed her hand and headed back to her room for a moment. Once in there, he grabbed another cloak, and slung it over his shoulders, tying it aroundhis shoulders he removed his mask, and tossed it onto his bed, then raised his hood to cover his face once more as he had been used to. He then went back out into the living area, to greet her and make sure everything was well.
-
She sat and was undooing her hair whem he retuned unweaving it from around her siver star crown and fluffin he silver hair with her fingers... "Why do you hide your face in your own home?" shge asked setting the mask of hers aside as she took off all her elaborate silver jewlry she had worn to the mask... and placing them with her crown and the mask "you neednt hide your face from me Cirden..."
-
Pulling his hood back a bit to show his face only to her he looked at her with a serious look on his face. " This isnt my home land. My home land was many years ago. I found an odd portal while exploring a forest, and when i walked through, i was here in the village, where Xion found me. As for hiding my face. I've hidden my face from all but you, and Xion, he has only seen it once. When i left my real home i burned it down. My twin brother was always getting a better life. Jealousy got the best of me, and i burned my parents home down. Since then i've hidden my face to stay unnoticed.. none of the villagers here have seen my face, they know me as Lord Cin."
-
She nodded and looked at him as she listened "do you hate yurself so much for what youve done that you cant stand having people to see your face?"
-
He sighed a bit. "Perhaps thats some of it, but mostly I wear cover my face so i dont have to look at myself. The hatred i have for my brother, and the hatred i have for myself having the same face. I hide myself away from the world because of that." He leaned himself against the wall by the door, and stood there silently.
-
She nodded and regaurded him curiously then nodded after a time "I see well if you wish to hide your face i guess nothing i say will sway you from it so do as you will..." She unpinned her brotch and lay it with the rest of her jewelry and sighed "mutch better.. i feel pounds lighter already..."
-
"Well, like i said, Xion has seen my face once, and you have seen it quite a bit now, so no worries there. Byt i can assure you, once we are around others of the village, i'll be keeping my face covered." He nodded a bit, then sat down against the doorway thinking.
-
She nodded "as you wish.. I will respect your wishes.." She stood and pulled her dress up to her thigh so she could reomve the dagger that was strapped to her thigh and laying it aside as well "Cirden i do understand what it is like to lose everything I am here if you ever wish to talk..." she said as she smoothed her dress back down
-
With his back still against the wall he listened closely. "Well then, what is your story, you have heard the basic of mine." He sat there waiting for her to answer, thinking about what she had said. He didnt know what was going on. Why had such things happened at the ball. Why had he been attracted to her. "Do you have extra clothing you can change into?"
-
She shook her head "my story is long and unhappy.. I would not wish to brother you with the trifell details of my own history.. and no i dont have anything else to change into but this one will do for now i can wash it myself in the nearest river if i must.." She pulled her sheer sleaves down as though wishing to hide something with them
-
"No worries as to your background, but if you'd like to hear more as to how i got here, I guess i could tell you." He let out aa soft sigh and for a moment went silent. "I was born into a normal average family, the older of twins. Whenever I did something to tease my younger brother I would get punished. He got everything I ever wanted, and I was left as a forgotten son. As that progressed I began to stay in my room, and study the mage arts. I would only come out at night to get food and bathe."
He sighed once more. "As my teen years came, the same thing seemed to happen. Jealousy began to form within me, but I kept it bottled up, and continued my studies. Adulthood came quickly for me, and I watched from my window as my brother went off to join the army. Even after he was gone, my parents had forgotten about me. I could hear them from my room, telling friends what a great son they had."
His voice seemed to get a bit quieter, as if he was getting slightly emotional with the telling of the story. " Finally, a few months after he left, the jealousy busted out of me. I tormed in on my parents bedroom one night as they slept, and woke them up. They told me I was a monster, with my green glowing eyes. I merelydragged them outside, then set fire to the house. Then simply left them behind. I raided my fathers weaponsmith shop before I left the village, and took a bastard sword."
As I traveled I came across a man that led me back to a secret army base. From there, I found myself in the secret evil army. I was given a new bastard sword, and a long composite bow. The ones I still carry today. I also found myself a pet weasel that I call Narydar. After my training with the evil army, I went on my own a bit. To the army, I was low rank, but on my own, in secret, I would raid villages, and declare myself to be Lord Cin. After awhile, I became bored with teh army, and was summoned by a wizard to an inn in a small village. When I went, I came across several others that I traveled with. We completed a mission with that man, then traveled around together creating more havoc."
His voice had begun to turn back to normal now, as his story seemed to come to a close. "Then one day, I was exploring a forest, and I found an interesting portal, When I stepped through it, I found myself here. I explored some, and came across Xion, and that has been some time ago." As he finished, his hands unclinched, and he leaned as close to the wall as he could. Suddenly a rustling could be heard from across the room. A smile cracked across his face as he uttered the words "Come Narydar!" A small grey and black weasel came running from under a blanket and jumped into Cirden's arms as he started to pet him.
"This of course is Narydar."
-
She gave a kind smile to the weasel "It is only fair that i should tell my story then i guess... now that you have told me yours.." she walks over and reaches out to pet Narydar. "I was raised in the village on the outskirts of Twilight a place know for its glowing forest.. creating a look of twilight any time day or night.."
"I trained as a preistess of Luna the patron goddess of our area... People loved me.. I sopose I am just pittiable or to charasmatic.. but I fell in love with a boy i had known since i was a child.. and for a time things were simple and happy.. However the prince of twilight had heard of me and came out to see me and preposed to me on the spot i regected him and he grew angery... Ellious my beloved protected me as he had before... but Prince Barthoren was not one to be denied. a few moons latter a fight broke out in a tavern between castle gaurds and men of my village..."
"Barthoren used this as an excuse to threaten to war against my tiny village.. I gave in to protect my people.. and to protect my beloved.. for we stood no chance against them. We married.. and for years all i knew was pain.. but i was able to protect my people and better serve them still acting as preistess... Me and ellious grew closer as he became my protector... I had an afair with him.. Barthoren found out and grew even madder with jealusy.. He had Ellious sent away and when i showed signs that i was bearing a child he poisioned me so i would misscarry..... I was weak for weeks after...."
"I think the demons must have known this for they used this time to atack... I rember .. the screams as ellious came in and carried me to the tombs of my people... he hid me there so i might be safe... at some point i must have passed out for when i woke... all was still i dont know how long it took me to escape that place of dark and death but when i stepped into the fresh air again the ground was wet with blood the castles towers topled and smoing... i left and have only had talikeen wth me since then.. I have beenworking as a traveling healer to make up for not being able toprotect my people when it counted most... I will do what i can to make up for my incompitance..."
She was rubbing her wrists as she spoke and he would notice the faded silver scars on her wrists as if a band of metal had cut deep into her skin long ago it was hardly noticable do to its age but that she rubbed at them as if they still hurt gave them away.. She petted Narydar a pained look in her eyes
-
He offered his hand to her. "Well i assure you, around me, you will be safe." he put his hand up to her face and rubbed her cheek a bit where he had kissed before. The look on his face was one of caring, something that hadnt ever happened before. " I am sorry for the losses you had to endure, especially your child." The thoughts of children raced through his head. For some reason he couldnt figure out what was going on in his mind. "So did you ever find your Ellious?"
-
She lay her hand over his and looked at him "No i havent seen him in over 700 years before I left twilight.... It only leads me to asume he died defending the kingdom... so i have tried to move on and live my life as best i can... you only live once.. o i wont spent my dies yerning for some one who is gone...
-
" I suppose that is the nest way to live. No worries, you shouldnt have trouble finding someone new to be with." The look on his face doesnt change at all as he tries to hide the redness that is trying to come through on his face. He simply sat there now, petting Narydar.
-
She smilled watching him blush and played upon his embaresment "are you volunteering then?" she asked bring her face inches from his and petted Narydar enjoying making him uncomfertable just a little
-
He could no longer hold back the redness trying to escape to his face. His cheeks turned bright red making his green eyes fade a bit. He didnt know what to say for a moment, he could barely think, a ball had formed in his throat, every muscle in his body had tightened. Everything in his life had been horrible, until now and he didnt know what to say. He tried to say something but nothing would come out. Then suddenly he uttered the word "Perhaps"
-
Shge chuckled and gave him a very chaste kiss on his lips a light peck like a butterflys wing brushing his lips "then i shall have to take your offer under consideration..." with that she backed off and went to look outside though a window... "If i stay here long i would lve to plant some flowers around here..."
-
Hte redness in his face dimmed a little bit, but was still clearly visable. He still couldnt think of anything to say as she kissed him so peacfully, then backed off. As she walked to the window he tried to get some words out, but still seemed to have trouble talking at the moment. Her voice at the moment seemed so serious and yet, he didnt know what to do about it. "Perhaps you should, and maybe a small garden out frot would give this place some character."
-
She nodded "I only wish i could get my hands on some twilight luna bells they only grow in the forst of twilight but they are so lovely and are said to bring good luck to travelers...." She sighed and put her head in her hand"its still nice but the garden would add a rich life to the place.."
-
"Well this place could use some enrichment. this entire village is a ruin, Xion and I are helping to rebuild it. Perhaps later if you'd like i can take you up to the pond where we fish and hang around. Its an ok place. Ive never really payed attention to it." He sat there agaisnt teh wall still trying to comprehend what was happening inside him, as he sat there petting Narydar.
-
She nodded and turned to face him again smiling "I would like that.. very much so.. we could make a day of it take some bread and some smoked meat and just enjoy the day for what it is without having to worry about anything..." She said and smiled seeming happier here then she had been at the castle...
-
"Sounds like a plan to me. He cracked a bit of a smile, now trying to relax some. He stood up and went to his chair at the table by his bedroom. "so is there something you'd like to do now? if you'd like to lay down, that would be fine. Its been a long evening."
-
She smiled at the thought of a bed she hadnt had a bed to sleep in for ages and she hadnt made use of the one at the tavern earlier.. suddenly she felt sleepy and she nodded and yawned stripinng her dress of so she was only in her shift witch was like a modern day slip but it came down to her nees and was fairly modest "if you dont mind i would like to sleep a little while..."
-
"Feel free sweet lady. I may run some errands while you sleep. Or I may turn in for myself." He sat there in comfort as she listened to her go into her room to sleep. He didnt know what for sure to do, but he was stuck at the moment. He got up and went into his bedroom for a moment. Once in there he laid on down back first on his bed thinking, and before he knew it he was asleep.
-
She settled down and slept for six hours due to being just exausted normally she only required four.... She got up and stretched Listening to see if he was awake not wanting to wake him by wandering about
-
He slept silently, no noise came from his bedroom, although, the oor was open. He slept soundly, no noise disturbed him. His dreams were for once peaceful. He could think clearly for once in his life. He had something to look forward to in the coming day. He rolled about little in bed as he slept.
-
she dressed and walked to his door to watch him sleep breeifly people were so angelic when they slept she walked out and went outside and began pulling up weeds to give her something to do to pass the time singing in elvish as she worked..
-
He slept silently for eight hours, then slowly rolled himself out of bed. As he got up, he pulled his hood forward to cover his face. As he went into the living area he whistled for Narydar to come to him. As he saw Narydar coming he bent down to pick him up, then proceeded forward to check Sharla's room. Seeing nothing in there he turned and walked to the front door where he could hear singing that enchanted his ears. He slowly opened the front door and exited to the front of the house where he turned to see Sharla working in the front pulling weeds for a garden. "G'day to you sweet lady"
-
She smilled at him.. and continuedto simg until the song was over.. and she smilled "you can help if you like... or you can just stand there i just wished to keep myself busy..."
-
"I'll guess i could help you out for a little while." He then bent down a bit and began to pull weeds from the garden on the other side of the door. AS he went along he kept thinking about what was going on. Was he starting a relationship with someone? what was going to happen in the future? "Perhaps we can take a walk later."
-
She nodded and hissed in a breath as she pullsed out the beginings of a thorny bramble aving a ton of scratcheds and cuts on her hands "that would be nice yes..."
-
As he pulled weeds he looked over to Sharla and noticed the scratches on her arms from the weeds. "Do you need me to heal that for you, or do you have it taken care of?" Waiting for a response he continued to pull weebs from the garden, working his way to the corner of the house.
-
She smiled and shook her head "no use healing them till after i am done.." She said pulling up another thorny brabmle stock then looking at the beginings of a nightshade plant "do you want me to pull the nightshade as well i mean the plant has its uses and there dark leaves are o lovely color..." she said turning the leaves gently in her hand making sure it was healthy...
-
"Leep what you wish m'lady, tis your garden" He continued pulling the plants, working slowly as he went. Once he finished on his side, he moved over to her side and knealy down next to her. "So what time would you like breakfast?"
-
She pulled the last to branbles and stood and swayed slightly "any time is fine i think we got all the weeds out here.... so i can try cooking if you like i am not very good at it but i can manage not to kill us with a decent enough meal" she laughed
-
if you'd like me to, i can go catch a couple fish from the pond. If you want to come watch me fish, thats fine." He arose and offered a hand to her, as he turned to enter the house once more. What was going on all of the sudden? He turned again and called out "Narydar come!" then knealt down to pick up Narydar with great ease.
-
She took his hand and gave it a squeeze seeming to shake off her momintary dizzyness then smilling at him and Narydar "If you dont think i will scare away the fish with my light then i shall be happy to acompany you.."
-
"Naw you should be fine. Let me just fetch my gear quickly." He went inside and put his quiver over his shoulder, strapped his sword to his waist, then graabed his bow, and coil of rope. He then went back outside and smiled at her through his hood. Reaching up and taking her hand again, he led her to the pond. Once there he sat down for a moment. "If you wouldnt mind watching Narydar, I should be done shortly."
He then took an arrow from his quiver and tied the rope to its end. As he stood up he grasped his bow, and readied the arrow on it. He then knealt down a bit, and took aim. He saw a nice yellow tail, took aim and fired. Lightning quick the arrow shot into the water greating a bit of a splash. He then grasped the rope and pulled on it until the arrow's tail shone through the water. As he grasped the tail of the arrow and lifted it from the water, he was pleased to see not one, but two yellow tail on the end of his arrow. He smiled a bit then turned to Sharla still on one knee. "See m'lady, I told you I'd be done quickly. Although.. i wasnt expecting that."
-
She laughed and aplauded and nodded "yes most unexpected however well done all the same... they look delicious" she looed at her scratched up hands she would have to put some salve on them when they got back
-
"Well then, shall we head back, or would you like to sit and enjoy the fresh water, and the sun. If you'd like you can even go for a swim." He layed his bow down, and sat next to her looking into her eyes, and the way the sunlight made them glow even more. He didnt know what was ging on. or what they would do next. "So how do you think we should cook these? Open fire, or grill?"
-
She thought "get it going over a open fire and we can swim for a little i think it would feel good to get the bit of tral dust out of my hair.."She took of her dress and stood in her shift and took off her shoes lightly testing the water with one foot to see how chill it was and she smiled at him slowly waddiing into the water pausing when it was hip deep "well? are you going to join me then?"
-
"Maybe after i start te fire" He went and began to gather some sticks for a fire. When he found a bunch he brought them back to the edge of the pond and began to set up a fire and pole to hold the fish for roasting. He pulled a piece of flint from his pocket, and pulled out his sword and struck them together to start a fire. Once he had the fire going well he stuck the fish on a stick, and hung them over the fire to begin cooking. He then sat by the ponds edge for a few minutes watching Sharla swim around. He couldnt help noticing how she had such a well shaped beautiful figure, to go along with her beautiful hair, and eyes. He then stood up and took his pants off, then took his shirt off. As he did this, he looked over his shoulder to make sure noone was coming. As he was happy to see noone coming, he broke the silence. "Well here goes." He pulled teh string on his cloak, dropping it to the ground behind him, showing all of his pale skinned body except his waist area. He then dove into the water quickly with a splash. As he came back up, he put his arms around Sharla's mid section, and kissed her lips passionately.
-
She laughed and was kissed by him.. tredding water easily even as he held her "dont be too distracted i do not want our morning meal to burn.." she said diving under the water and came back up shaking her hair and wringign it out
-
"Dont worry, i'm an excellent cook" He swam over to the waters edge reached up, and turned the fish over, then sat there at teh waters edge watching her swim. Enjoying yourself are you? This water is very nice.
-
She laughed and floated on the waters surface idly "yes its lovely .. i could lay here all morning.. but i think we can do other things.. more productive then this.." stars up at the sky then wades back to the waters edge sivering a bit as she come onto the shore as the cool morning air hits her..
-
"More productive like what?" He turned around and watched for a moment as she shivered, then got himself out of the water. He pulled his shirt on once more, then offered his cloak to her to dry off a bit. "We should hae brought towels Sharla." He then pulled his pants on over his damp legs, and sat on the ground next to the fire to dry off and cook the fish.
-
She sat near the fire not bothering to pull her dress on till she was dry "yes towls might have been wise" she twisted her shift as it clung to her to try and dry it a little "the fish smells good though" She felt a little light headedand chilled but otherwise fine...
-
"yes, the fish is almost done." He watched as her hair slowly dried. It looked better when wet, but she couldnt always keep it that way. After a few minutes he turned the fish over again, and then turned to look out over the pond to think. Shortly thereafter he checked the fish once again, and turned to her. "So what did you mean by more productive?" He then pulled the fish off the fire, skewered it on an arrow, then handed it to Sharla.
-
She laughed "surely work needs to be done i can cook and mend and I am a healer surely there is work I can do.. you cant expect me to sit here and do nothing can you? to quote to old human saying idle hands do the devils work.."
-
"Ah. good point. perhaps the first healing you should do is on your own hands. Some of those weeds seem to have done a job on them." He stared back at the pond for a moment, then turned to face the fire again, as he pulled some of the meat off of the fish and put it in his mouth. Once in his mouth he could taste the delightful fresh meat. It melted in his mouth and slid down his throat asy, making it an enjoyable meal. HE would enjoy this evening now, as he filled his belly, and had the company of a gorgeous female friend.
-
She took a few bitses of the fish enjoying it and looked at her hands "my body has never been able to except magiacl healing from inself but i can rub some salve on it when we get back its not so serrious only a few scartches and cuts.. beleive me when i say i have had worse.. i just heal well so i have very few scars from such things.. for witch i am very very greatfull"
-
"nonsense with salve, if your body wont heal itself, then perhaps the hand of a mage can" He placed his fish back over the fire, then stood up, and walked around hte edge of the fire. Once there he knealt down on one knee, in front of her. He cracked a smile, tehn slid the fish from her hands and placed i back on the fire, and grasped her hands. He then looked into her eyes, and began muttering a spell.
-
She smiled and watched him work he would let him heal her but shhe was unaware of the traces of nightshade already in her blood when he finished she kissed his cheek "my thanks.... so that makes you a mage then... funny.." she takes his hand in hers turning it over slowly "with articulate hands like yours i would have picked you for an archer myself.. but then you are skilled with a bow..."
-
" I am both an archer, and a mage. I am skilled with a blade as well. Depends on the mood i suppose." He kissed her cheek, then handed her fish back to her. Once that was done he went back to his seat and picked more meat off of his fish. Eating the fish, he looked out onto the pond again, then back to her. Still thinking he finished his fish, then offered the bones and head to Narydar.
-
she finished the fish and grabbed her dress slipping it over her head now tht she was dry for she still shivered a sort of cold clamy feeling clinging to her skin she slowly stood up to straighten out her dress and swayed as if she might faint "the fish was excellent thank you Cirden?"
-
"Your very welcome, but I must ask, are you ok? You seem to have a bit of a wobble about you." HE stood up and approached her to check her out, not knowing what was going on.
-
She shruged and sort of half fell agaist his chest grabbing on to his shirt "I dont know i just feel so cold and dizzy all of a sudden.." she closed her eyes a bit of a cold sweat starting to bead on her skin her skin had paled and was cold and clamy..
-
He quickly threw his hood over his face not worrying about tying it down then picked Sharla up, and ran towards the village. "Narydar Come!" he yelled as he continued to run. "The fire should be ok, it was almost out anyways. Stay with me Sharla, stay well" As he reached the village, he headed towards the medic's house, and quickly kicked in the door once he reached it. Laying Sharla down on the table, the medic came running from his room yelling about his door. Just then Cirden pulled his sword from its hilt and pointed it straight at the medic. "Find her problem, and fix it, or i'll make your life hell"
-
A light tinge of embaressment came to her pale cheeks as she sat up both touched by his concern but also offended by his actions as a fellow healer she knew what it was like to be treatened if a loved one did not get better "Cirden!" she yelled as if he were nothing more then a disobedant pup but then she sighed and smilled callmer in her tone when she spoke again "I trust the medic will do his best and I am sure I will get better but threatening a healer dose not make them better at their jobs...." she curlsed up on her side then and shivered to let the medic do his work feeling her pulse and inspecting her hands and looking in her eyes fro signs as to what was wrong
-
"Tis the way it should be then" He then sheathed his sword, and walked out of the house in silence. As he walked down the road towards the pond, he thought to himself. what had come over him? Did he care that much? He knew that that had been his evil side, why did his care for her make it come out? As he reached the pond he saw that the embers were still warm, so he kicked them into the pond. Watching the coals sizzle for a moment, then die he sat down at the ponds edge.
As he sat there he tied his cloak around his neck once more, then continued to sit there and think. What was going on in his life these past few days? two or three days ago he was a lonely self hating person. Now he had met someone he couldnt help but care about. Things in him were changing, and his evil side was apparently not liking it.
-
after some time teh medic came to him "my lord " he said very cautiusly "Your lady freind had mild poisioning .. shes resting now but she will be fine.. its mild enough i t can be flushed from her system before the day is out... I think its nightshade but i cant be entirely sure because the case is so mild..."
-
As he sat there with his back to the medic, sitting by the pond he did nothing but listen. "Thank you." He then waved the medic away, and continued to simply sit there looking out over the pond, as the sun slowly rose to touch the waters edge. "Cirden, what has come over you? What is happening? Why did i act like that to the medic?"
-
she was covered by a nice thick blanket siping at the watter "how could i be so dim witted as to have handled night shade with my hands all cut up.. dont tell me i am going senile at my age or ill kill myself now... " she mumbled to herself"
-
He sat by the lake doing nothing still, and yet for some reason there was something he wanted to do. But he held himself here sitting by the lake, waiting to see if she would come looking for him after he had stormed out. Had He struck fear into her? He was sure he had struck some fear into the medic, but wasnt completely sure. "Cirden, you had better hope you didnt scare her away.. you know you like her, you dont know why, but you do."
As the time passed he continued to sit by the ponds edge watching the sun move across the water as the early morning passed. He sat there still waiting to see if Sharla would come look for him, or if he would merely sit there for hours doing nothing. So many options crossed his mind. He became tired, and pulled his hood over his face, laid his head on his knees, and fell asleep sitting up next to the pond.
-
It was a while before she recovered but she went back to the water seeing him him laying there she very quietly lay face to face before speaking to him hopping to give him a start.. "Hey there sleepy head couldnt wait up huh" she roufled his hair and smilled at him nearly nose to nose with him
-
Hearing noise, he slowly woke up. Seeing her eyes staring straight into his he smiled. "I guess so. Seemed like so long, I guess I was tired, or maybe I thought to much." He layed there for a second then cracked a smile right before he kissed her on the lips softly. He then laid there for a minute or so staring into her eyes, becoming lost in the sea of beauty within them for a moment. "So, what was wrong? He simply tried to forget his actions from earlier as he laid there.
-
She blushed "dont think me incompitant but it was the night shade i touched it after cutting up my hands and well a small amount of the poison seeped into my system not enough to kill but enough to give everyone a fright i should wager you scared away five years of that medics life with that preformance of yours"
-
He watched her bright face as it turned red from his comments. "I suppose I went a bit overboard. I lost control of myself, something came over me when you collapsed. He was screaming about his door, which was the least of my worries. I'll fix it eventually." He laid there for a moment, then put his left am over her back, resting his hand on her side. "So are we laying here for fun? or other reasons?" He merely cracked a smile, and kissed her lips again.
-
She smilled "I am here cause my legs are still a bit shakey and i cant have you going off and terrorizing other citizens.. " she sat up and smilled at him "cirden you dont strike me as a tirant but a gentle person please dont prove me wrong.."
-
He merely laid there for a moment before speaking. He just thought about her words. he had always been a tirant, this day, and the night before were his only real moments of good he had had in his life in years. What had come over him in the past hours were beyond what he could figure out. " I have been a tirant most of my life. I was raised as a forgotten child. I've never had anything to live for in life. The hours since isaw you at that ball have been the only moments of joy I have ever experienced, and I dont know what has happened to me. I am me, but there seems to be somewhat of anther me that is conflicting with teh me that has been around for ages." He still laid back on the ground relaxing, as he grasped her hand and stared into her eyes.
-
she smiled and almost breathed out a small laugh "I should inteend for you to experance many more moments of joy.. now if you can did up some horses perhaps we can go on that ride i spoke of last night? i think you would enjoy it that is if you can learn to ride with the stride else for men it can be quite painfull
-
He laid there for a moment then sighed. " I suppose I could check in town for a couple usable riding horses.." He laid tehre for a moment, then sat up and kissed her cheek. He sat there for a moment then stood up, and offered a hand to help her up. Horses, one skill he had never really practice, thought about it a few times, but had never tried it.
-
She took his hand and came to her feet her legs still a bit shakey but uch better then she had been "thank you cirden.. i may make a gentle men of you yet that is if the tryrant in you will let me.." she then kissed him full on the lips gently "what say you?"
-
" I'm not quite sure. The tyrant in me seems to want to stay, but there may be work that can be done." He put his arm around her and started walking towards the village. Once there he began to look around for horses. "Ok then, you seem to know more about horses than I do, so perhaps you should be the one that points out ones good for riding."
-
She wwouldinspect every horse thouroghly inspecting its hoves and spending a little talking to it and stroking its neck picking out a white arabian for him with a smoothe gait and a gentle carmel colored mare for herself but not before scolding on f the villagers on the shape of his horse doing what she could to heal its cracked hooves taking the time to trim its hooves and brush it down to soothe the animal then saddling up the other two horses for them sitting side saddle an taking the eigns "now use the sturups to clime into the saddle and use you thighs pressure to tell the beast you want to go and make small adgustments with the reigns to tur and if you feel like your going to fall grab onto the beast neck"
-
He approached the horse on the left side, and put a hand on its back. Trying to stick his left foot into the sturup and tried to pull himself onto the horse, only to slip on the mud and fal onto his back. As he pulled himself off the ground, he glared over his shoulder at his muddy back, and proceeded to try again. He got his foot into the sturup and pushed up, this time pushing to hard and going over the horse, onto his back again.
Laying there for a moment he looked up at Sharla. "I think i need to go a bit softer trying to pull myself up." He then got himself up, and approached the horse from the right. This time, with his foot in the sturup he pushed with a little pressure, and landed himself on the saddle nicely. He leaned foreward a bit to grasp the reigns, then sat upright. pulling a bit on the reigns, and applying pressure to its side with his leg he attempted to motion the horse forward. The Horse began a slow walk, which pleased him. "I think i may have the hang of this m'lady."
-
She had to try veryhard not to laugh as he landed in the mud twice she had started very young and had help so had only landed in the mud when a horse threw her now and again She noticed the walk and brought herself to a nice trot beside him "okay pick it u to a trot to keep up with me just a bit more pressure with your thighs"one had to wonder how she did it ridding side sadle havving both her legs over one side.. she looked as though she could fall at any moment but she had ridden for many years and knew how to ride
-
He pushed into the horses side a bit more to see if it would respond. The horse began to miove lightly faster, and quickly caught up with Sharla. He gripped the reighns tighter as he went, hoping that he wouldnt fall. He had also hoped that none of the villagers saw his riding fiasco. He would never hear the end of it from Xion. What had he been up to this entire day anyways. He hadnt heard, or seen Xion at all since coming through the portal last night. It was kind of odd.
As he continued to follow Sharla he watched how she rode, hoping she wouldnt fall off. How she could ride sideways was a mystery to Cirden. He didnt even want to try it yet. He was barely comfortable with one leg on each side. "So where to Sharla? You should lead this time."
-
She smilled "I barely know the place cirden but perhaps i can get some help" she leaned over the saddle to stroke the mares neck whispering to her in elvish the horse might not know elven but her touch made a talipathic link between her and the animal.. the horse snorted and nodded then she did the same to his arbabain stallion looking as though she might slip from the saddle but she didnt and after a moment it did the same with an extra snort "you may want to losen your grip on the reigns Cirden he says your hurting his neck the horses know the way and i will take the lead if you wish.." She said as her mare took the lead sharlas holding the reigns lightly in her lap very relaxed about it
-
"Tell the horse if it wants me to loosin my grip, then it should make sure i dont slide off.." He loosined his grip on the reigns gently, and continued to ride as well as he possibly could for his lack of experience. As he continued he tried to make his ride softer, but only found himslef slipping a bit. "You know, this thing isnt the easiest ride in the world."
-
She laughed you have to grip with your thighs here ill show you bracing one foot in the stiru she stood balnceing herself and hiking her gress up to her thighs and getting on astride showing him how she was using her thighs to hold onto the horse "use the stirups too it helps even out the gai so you wont be so sore latter" i wouldnt recoment ridding side saddle only ladies do it and its most impracticle but it keeps one from showing to much flesh.. like i am now" she blushed and quickly went back to side saddle
-
"I see." He tried repositioning himself on the saddle so that he would be able to ride easier. Asd they continued, he found himself bouncing less, and feeling alot better. "Hmm.. you were right, about that technique. But i must say, when it comes to to much skin, I must object. On a day like this pale skin could use a tanning." He blushed lightly and continued to ride. "As for side saddle, I can barely ride like this, I doubt I'd last side saddle."
-
she laughed heartily then... "Only women of a high socail standerd ride side saddle its highly impracticle and i wouldnt want you to because your not a lady i mean as far as i know..." she laughs some more it seemed the mare was laughing to tossing it s head and wineying then she put her hand to her mough and cleared her throat "please dont be offended Cirden i didnt mean to imply anything"
-
"Im not offended Sharla. I knew you were joking." He continued to ride following the path the horses took them on. Waiting to see where they were leading them to. He hadnt been to this area before. For the most part he had stayed in the village and gone to the pond to fish. He waited for the horses to stop, still watching Sharla as she rode.
-
She held out one hand and closed her eyes a dove made of light forming in her hand she kissed its head and let it flutter off "it will go see how far the trail goes... what do you think so far?"
-
As they continued to ride he started so somewhat enjoy himself. He didnt know what was so great about it out here. He had seen forests and such back in his own world, it was never very appealing. He figured it was her that made this journey more tolerable. There was still something about her that made his life seem to turn around a little bit. Not alot but at least some.
As he rode, he looked around the forest watching for anything that might pop out. Even while enjoying himself he knew that Xion could pop out at any moment and start his regular arsenal of attacks with his shurikens and such. As he knew it would be harder to defend himself on horseback. He could barely keep himself up on the saddle now.
He turned back to watch the trail, just as he saw a dove of light form on Sharla's hand. As it flew away, he watched curiously wondering what kind of power she really had. Surely that couldnt have been a healers spell. Seemed more like something a mage would do. He continued to watch as it flew away into the forest following the trail, when Sharla's voice broke the silence of the forest.
"Seems nice. I've never really taken the time to notice anything. Of course now, I have plenty to watch out for all around me." His cheeks reddened a bit as he continued on.
-
She smilled and nodded "one should take time to know and love ther saroundings in witch they emerse their life.. though i have not been to twilight the place i grew up as a child i still could find my way though it blindfolded" After a ew moments the dove came back diving into her chest disaprearing with sparks of light she rubbed her chest and chuckled "eager to return home i see... well.. hmmm interesting... she then turned to Cirden trails clear as the dove flys but there was blood along the trail half a mile ahead it could be an injured animal i cant say so if you would like to turn back we can.."
-
He watched as the dove came back down the trail, and disappeared into her chest with the flash of a few lights. It amazed him even more for some reason. He knew that that wasnt a healer's trick, peraps it was some mystic power that she had. "Its alright, I'm used to seeing blood, afterall, in my own world, I was a jealous killer. I think we should continue with the trail, perhaps if we find the injured creature, you could apply your healing touch."
-
She nodded and smilled "Perhaps.. perhaps not i am not a god......" she paused and smilled "its not my place to chose to give or take life perahsp a wlf has taken down an animal should i deprive it of its meal it has worked hard for"
-
" Depends on how you feel about it. I'm not sure what I would do about it." He continued to follow watching closely. Kepping his eyes on his surroundings as well. Making sure that there wasnt anything coming that shouldn't be. As he turned back to Sharla he looked on curiously as she rode. He wondered what she had planned for the rest of the afternoon. "If you want to continue then we should, if not, we can turn around, you lead the way."
-
She shrugged and smiled "lets turn back i want you to be able to walk tommarow trust me you may not feel it now but you legs will fill it latter to much more may leave you crippled for a few days.." with that she dismounted ad used the briddle to turn his horse around them hers passing him then remounting "youll want to stretch your legs when we get back so it wont hurt so much tomarrow"
-
"Alright then. fair deal" He watched as she dismounted, and got him turned around, then got back into the saddle of her own horse. As they continued to ride back, he watched closely around them still, wondering what might have been going oon in the other direction, but at the same time, wondering what was going on in the village. He couldnt help but notice so much in this area was going on, and yet there was nothing he could do about it.
-
Thgey passed several minutes in scilince sharla humming some waltz from the night prior that they had danced to... the birds cirping now and again then she looked at him "whats on your mind?" she asked looking back at him trusting the horse to know its own way as they went
-
He watched closely areound the woods as she hummed, continually making sure that nothing was going to happen around them. He hadnt ever cared to pay attentionto the happy things in life, but he knew how to watch himself to keep from getting wounded or killed. As he turned his head back forward, he saw her turn and utter those words. What was on his mind. He didnt know for sure. He stared for a moment in silence. Then he tried to thinjk of what to say.
"Whas on my mind? Well plenty of stuff. Alot to complex to even talk about. But I am thinking about you, and what has been happening since last night. I have never experienced anything like this. I am normally a sheltered man. I never payed attention to details of happiness..I've always kept to taking care of myself. Only noticing enough in the wild to keep myself alive. Im not sure what has happened since last night. But I'm startin to like it a little."
-
she smilled at him "I am glad i hope you continue to enjoy it for i am enjoying myself..." there was a growl as a rabid wolf jumped out and snapped at her horses flanks the horse rearing sharl slipping from the saddle coming up at eye level with the beast going very still her hand lingering over her hip where her dagger would be under the dress but she hesitated to move knowing it might strike if she did and might strike if seh didnt her horse ran off and the wolf though rabid knew an easy meal when it saw one so it ditn chase the bigger prey down for moment the two stared at one another not moving till she finnaly went for her dagger and it went for her throat she yiped and used her arms to keep its jaws just above her throat trembling as she fought with its weight on her arms "Cirden get him off me just dont kill him hes sick" she said as she strugled
-
He quickkly muttered a spell immobilizing the beast. As it slowly layed itself down and relaxed he stood up quickly looking at the wolf, then to her, then back at the wolf. "Be thanksful to her beast. If she hadnt stopped me, you would have taken an arrow in the heart." He then knealt down and checked her. "Are you ok sharla? I know it came close to you. It is lucky I didnt kill it. jealousy is my downfall, and Taking away someone I have feelings for might strike that nerve."
-
she noddded dagging the bit of foamy saliva off o her thrat then looking the beast over finding a small wound in its fur "huh that is interesting" she healed the wounded and petted the wolf gently having a look at its eyes and mouthShe pulled back the fur to show him threee claw marks or scares that she had healed very thin red lines now "that was a blade a true cla mark would be mutch more jagad my guess if the blades were laced with somthing to drive the poor creature mad" she lay her head on the wolfs side listenign to his heart a moment "I thik the toxin should be clearing up his heart rate is slowing.."
-
He knealt down over the wolf and patted its back. "Be happy we found you beast.. Shs got the kinder of hearts in this pair, your very lucky..." He looked up at her as he patted its back some more. "Once you feel everything is safe, i'll do the counterspell and let it up again. But i dont want that fiasco again.." He looked into her eyes again, seeing the care in her eyes. He knew that she truely cared for this animal. Otherwise she wouldnt have saved it.
-
she nodded "go ahead and let him lose" she used her weight to pin the animal just incase stoking its fur "easy boy its okay ere not gona hurt you" she said in a soothing tone she lookedto Cirden placing one hand over the wolfs snout so it couldnt snap at her just incase "just breath easy boy.. you had a bad scratch nothing more..." she said speaking to the animal gently as if it were a frightened child
-
Nodding to her he turned back to the wolf still petting it. He then muttered his spell again, and released the animal. He stared at it as it started to gain control back, but laid still against the ground. "Is it saying anything? does it have a name, or should i continue calling it beast, or wolf?" He stared back at the wolf and began to get it, as it slowly began to move its legs some.
-
She slowly let the animal up lettign it lick her cheeks making her smile "animals dont give themselves names that we could prononce only humanoids do such things but i feel grey paw might suit him"
-
"Well if you would like to name him grey paw, feel free, and if you think he wont hurt Narydar, and you want to keep him, you may. I don't care. Pets make things in life more fun. Narydar has been a great help to me. Perhaps you could use your pet talking on Narydar when we get back to find out what he thinks of his life." He sat there, still patting the wolf's back as it stood there, then he stood up, and turned to Sharla. "Well since your horse has run off, you may use mine until we get back, i'll lead the way."
-
she shook her head "we will make better time if we ride together if you dont mind me riding in your lap" she explained how to mount without falling in the mud this time "right foot in the stirup now hold onto the knoby thing at the front of the saddle then swing your left leg over" she would wait till he was situated before usng the stuips and saddle horn to pull herself up in his lap putting his arks around her waist gently and taking the rengs in her hands "hold tight to me and grip with your thighs or both of us will end up on the ground" she would wait till he was settled to try and get the horse going
-
"I suppose it may be easier.." He eased his way onto the saddle, and waited uneasily as she made her way into his lap. As she suggested he applied some pressure to the horses side. He then carefully put his arms around Sharla's lower torso being careful not to put his hands anywhere that might offend her. "I guess im ready when you are."
-
She smilled holding tight to the reigns chuckling she would enjoy his discomfert and distraction having a lady ride in his lap would prove anoying at bestshe used her touch to speak to the animal bringing it up to a trot seeing how he reacted before going to a full gallup
-
Seeing how she smiled made Cin's worries disappear for a moment as the horse began to walk, then trot. As the steed's speed increased to a gallop, he began to told tighter against her stomach trying not to fall off. Knowing that if he fell off, she would call off as well. As they sped through the forest it became somewhat hard for him to pay attention to the forest around him, so he couldnt really do much to make sure there wouldnt be any ambushes. "Are you enjoying the torture i am enduring?" He cracked an evil grin. "because I am."
-
She smilled at him "Oh am i bothering you i can walk back easy enough if you like" she was turned to look at him one light hand on the reigns the other fiddling with a lock of her silver hair braiding it with one hand making it look efortless "would you like to remove myself i mean you will be stiff enough latter without me agonising you now"
-
"No, i'm enjoying this torture. You can let the horse run itself tired if you'd like. As long as I have hold of your midsection, I think i have the balance down." He smiled a bit, finally noticing that she had mentioned something about being stiff later. Did she have something planned? Perhaps. All he knew, is it sounded fun.
-
She smilled and drew the horse to a stop as they came back to the village.. She dismounted slidding easily off his laps miling up at him walking him and the horse back to the stable.. "want a helping hand getting dismounted?"
-
"I think I can handle it" He cracked a smile trying to hide red cheeks as he slid one leg over the horses back, and got himselfback on teh ground once more. "What a ride that was eh? I suppose we should probably go back to the house and check on Narydar. That weasel will go frantic if hes left to long in the house, and hes probably hungry to." He offered his arm as he began to make his way back to the house.
-
She leaned down and touched grey paw an both were still and quiet a moment then grey paw would lick her hand ans she would stand and take Cirdens offered arm "once you take care of Narydar you should strech your legs out or else youll be lucky if you can walk tomarrow" Grey paw would fallow them to the garden then lay down in the soft grass to rest a while...
-
"By stretch them out, do you mean lay down, or keep walkin?" He stared at her as they approached the house and went inside. He immediately let her hand go, and headed to his room looking for Narydar. "Narydar, come boy." As Narydar came running from under his bed Cirden pulled a piece of food from his pocket and dropped it to the floor for Narydar. "Good boy." HE then turned back and looked into Sharla's eyes once more.
-
She smilled and shook her head "no strech the mucles" she said and showed him by keeping her balnace on one leg asthe other streched back and up so her toes nearly touched her head then "You want to strech your inner thigh muscles mostly they dont get used much except fotr riding" she then did the splits on the floor to strech her inner thigh muscles "do what you can just dont over do it.. dont hurt yoourself"
-
"I think I'll pass on the splits, and stretchin over my head thing.. leather doesnt stretch well when it comes to that.." He grinned happily then decided to sit down and rest a bit. "I think i'll rest a little bit, then stretch after i change into something that wont be so hard to stretch out in." He sat there watching as she stretched herself out doing the splits and such.. after a short while he could no longer help himself. " You must be pretty limber to be able to stretch like that."
-
she blushed and noddedstreching her leg behind her back while on the floor this time "Yes i am rather flexible i comes in handy now and a gain but i just try and stay limber so i can get out of the way quick if i am in dangers way..." she then let her leg back down and sighed "much better.."
-
"good point. with a looney like me, you never know what kind of dangers you might get into.." He sat there still watching her stretch thinking about the day so far. He didnt know what to expect out of anyone at this point. He had always had his bouts of strange happenings when he met up with Xion on certain occasions. Remembering te previous day's events with the shurikens that morning. "So what would you like to do now?"
-
She smilled and shrugged "I am fine for now i am sure i can amuse myself for a while if you have more pressing maters to atend to.. we ate and tended the garden i can think of little else that needs my atention this exact moment... I can play a harp for a few hours if you do not object... i do not wish to disturb you if you plan to studyi just dont know what else i can do to be helpful.."
-
"You've been more than helpful. You've given my life meaning, and something to live for. Feel free to play any instrument, or do whatever you like. It doesnt bother me. Its the least I can do for the woman that has saved whats left of my dim soul..I am here to listen. I am in the same boat as you. I havent heard from Xion all day, so I have nothing to do as well." He sat there still looking into her eyes, and pulled his hood back some to reveal his glowing green eyes.
-
She smilled "you kind to say as much but if you would enjoy my music i will gladly play for you" she used light energy to craft a harp of pure light and plucked the threads oflght and they made lovly sounds and began playing an old elven lulliby that put minds at ease.."
-
Simply sitting there listening Cin said nothing. He merely sat listening to teh music she played, and thinking about the time spent through this day so far. He didnt know what was going to happen the rest of the day either. He would just wait to see what would happen with his time. So he sat there still beginning to feel tired.
-
She loked at him and smilled continueing to play he could rest all he wanted if he so desired.. starting to sing the words in elvish now as she played a second time the song described sweeping green valleys and lovely places of great bueaty and of crossing the great sea to the undying lands it was sort of sad but still beautiful and peacefull
-
As he sat there, slowly dozing off to the music, he hunched over more in the chair. As he fell into a deep sleep, he slipped forward and fell headfirst off of his chair, hitting his head on the floor as he landed. HE awoke slightly, then passed out. As he passed back out, he rolled onto his back revealing a bump on the right side of his head from impact. Sharla could tell from the bump, that he had gone back to sleep as a result of psassing out from injury. He laid there still passed out.
-
The harp vanished as soon as she saw the bump she used a frost enchantmnet on her left hand and touched it to his head to take down any swelling using her other hand to use healing magic on him speaking to him trying to get him to wake "My lord Cirden! My lord please wake up"
-
Twitching from teh cold on his head so suddenly he laid there motionless for a moment, then he suddenly heard groggy words coming to his ears. He didnt know what had happened, but tried to get some words out but couldnt. He merely moved his fingers a little, and tried opening his eyelids. After a moment he opened his eyelids a bit more. "Wh.....t happ..ned?" He laid there groggy for a moment not moving anything.
-
She tapped his cheek to keep him awake "you fell asleep and slid down and thumped your crown but good.. i am most likely to blame do to the peice i was playing tends to have that effect on people" she said and bit her lip laying his head in her lap her frost covered hand still over his bump
-
"Don't blame yourself.. Not your fault I fell. Definately going to have a headache later though." He laid there doing nothing. His head in her lap, as seh tended to the bump on his head. The coldness was beginning to take away the burning pain he had surging through his head. He simply stayed where he was trying not to move to much, every time he moved a muscle his brain ached badly.
-
She removed her frozen hand after a while dropping the enchantment blowing on it to try and thaw the flesh it hurt like hell but it helped him so if was fine "just lay still you should take it easy to got yourself good...." she rubbed her frozen hand against her cest trying to warm it up so she could move her fingers
-
He laid there still as she began to rub his chest. He wondered why she woul dbe doing that. Was she simply trying to warm her hand? Or was she trying to seduce hm in some way? He didnt know but he didnt mind at all. He was relaxing slowly, and beginning to feel better. "You ok?"
-
"I held the frost enchantment to long now my hand is frozen stiff" She gritt her teeth and rubbed it against her leg vigersly it hurt so badlly right now "one it warms up it will be bettter it just hurts thats all.. dont worry about it worry about yourself you are worse off"
-
Ah. I See m'lady. Perhaps i could help you with that. Just let me see your hand for a moment" He laid there waiting to see if she would put her hand in his. Would she? He didnt know. If she did, what would he do? Which spell to cast? He could surely help her as he laid there uncompfortably on the floor waiting for the pain and throbbing to stop.
-
She nodded and handed her frozen hand to him wincing a bit asher frozen musscles were not quite willing to yeildbut she lay her hand in his biting her lip "just dont exert yourself I dont want you hurting yourself on my acount given that your predicament is my fault in the firstplace
-
Cin mutters a few words, and class his hands around yours, you bigin to feal a little heat, but at the same time, you feel your hand suddenly warming back up and feelin alot better. Your not sure what happened, but it feels alot better as he lays back down, and closes his eyes for a second, before opening theem back up and smiling. "Feel better?"
-
She wiggled her fingers seeing they wre alright she suddenly hugged and kissed him then just as suddenly backed off seemingly suprised herself with her own actions "I anm sorry i was to bold.. but thank you ill stay here and sing for you or play for you to make you more comfertable in any way i can"
-
Dont be sorry. your fine." He said as he layed there. He didnt mind her being bold. He had never been bold, so it was nice to have somewhat of a change in his life. He laid there for a moment, shifting a little trying to find a comfotable position on the hard floor. "Dont worry about being bold. it doesnt bother me.. its a nice change, and dont worry about singin and stuff to much.. i dont expect you to be a servant or anything. I only expect you to have whatever fun you wish to have. Although, i think i need to get off this hard floor.. its not much for comfort." He smiled then sat up. "Oh, and no problem on the hand."
-
She nodded and heled him sit up letting him take his time but helping him to his feet and helping him to his bed and then would tuck him in and mae him comfertable as best she could uunder the circumstances "I do not wish to be so bold with you as i dont want you thinking of me as some unchaste heathen
-
"Im more of an unchaste heathen than you are m'dear. Back in my land before I came here, I was an evil mage.. I still am in part, but your effect seems to be slowly changing that. So worry not about boldness.. If you wish to be bold, then be bold, it doesnt bother me a bit." He laid back in his bed comfortably letting out a sigh.
"If you'd like to lay back and relax yourself feel free, you dont have to worry about me, I should be ok, and if you'd like to ask me anymore questions feel free in doing so." He laid back enjoying the comfort of his bed, and hoping that she would hang around. He seemed to always enjoy her company. The lonelyness of his life seemed to be slowly disapating.
-
She looked confused and sat up straighter "well i always pictured your brother the evil one not you from all you have told me.. i like you Cirden and i cant say i can see you as an evil person an opertunist mayhaps but not an overly cruel and evil personmy husband was an evil man..i would like to see my dagger flicker red with his blood.. for all the suffering he has caused" her eyes reflected many things anger pain shame greif flickering between them before her eyes became focused on him again "no your a better man then he will ever be.. king or no your more noble then him by far"
-
"Ha! him? evil? not even close, the only thing evil about him is his willingness to have sex with any woman he can coax into bed. Last i heard he was with a princess of some country, gttin ready to marry her, but i couldnt care less. Ive disowned them all. They are the reason i left. I am the truely evil one, but something about you has changed me." He laid back more listening to her. Taking notice to the pain in her eyes that the man she called her husband had caused her. He didnt know what he could do, but he wouldnt mind killing him in a second.
-
She hugged herself her eyes focused beyond seeing for several moments and she shivered as though some coldess had reached out and touched the innards of her body
*Flashback(s)*

*End*
Hey eyes glimmered in the light as she curled u next to him suddenly very cold "like i said you not an evil man..... no really" She said and lightly drew his arm over her side
-
She could slowly see his green eyes turn from plain and ordinary, to a deep angry glow as he listened to her story. As she curled up next to him he could feel the cold chill that had breached her skin, and seemed to have a horrible effect on her from the inside out. The cold eminating from her body slowly crept its way up his side, across his chest and into his heart, making him feel even angrier as he sat there.
Kindly pulling the blanklets around her, He got himself out of the bed and turned to her. She could see the ice cold look on his face, and the anger in his eyes. She could tell that right now, she wasn't looking into what she had known as the kind and gentle Cirden she had been getting to know. This was a different man. He stared into her eyes, trying to find the way to not lose control of himself and go berserk. This woman had felt pain before, but she wouldnt again.
He walked himself across the room, and in one swift motion pulled the bastard sword from its sheath, and turned back to her with his eyes still glowing angrily. Looking into his eyes she could slowly see his soul within changing from a nice man to a very dark being indeed. He had never cared for anyone. But suddenly in a short days time, he had become caring for a single woman. This woman had been hurt deeply in her past, and the man still lived.
In a very dark tone he finally spoke, "I may not have been evil before, but you havent seen anything yet m'lady. By the god's over me, if this man ever crosses my path, he will never see the light of day again."
He then thrusted the sword at the floor, then walked around the end of the bed, and approached her. "Never again love." He then picked her up blankets and all, and cradled her in his arms for a moment, trying to warm her, as he tried still to keep his anger under control, he kissed her lips passionately.
-
She had watched jhim become colder and darker as she related what had happened without to much detail if she had he might jst leave her to track down her husband.he mutered as soft thank you as he covered her up and looked at him as he got up
"Arent i the one sposed to be taking care of you?" She said watching him draw his sword not sure exactly hat he was gona do with it but even if she knew he wouldnt hurt her it put her on edge even as he put it into the floor
He picked her up and kiseed her.. her only love had been publicly beheaded r so she had been told she hadnt been able to watch. Cin wanted to protect her and called her so sweetly but did he love her and could she return his love? She couldnt help but wonder
-
"M'lady, you have taken care of me well, surely i will repay this debt to you in the future, for it is my duty to repay you. That man is vile, he does not deserve to place his feet on the ground." He hugged her tightly within the blankets, beginning to rock back and forth on the edge of the bed, only her being in comfort was slowing him from leaving right now to track this man down.
He gently laid his head on hers for a moment, she could feel the coldness in his cheeks. He had clearly changed some. He then raised his head again, and looked into her eyes once more. She could slowly see some normality coming back to his eyes, although they still glowed bright green with anger, He then went silent for a moment, only to seconds later shake his head and say "What just happened to me, " as he clutched her close to his body still.
-
She clung to him an looked at him as if messuring him "well you wanted to use your powers to protect me from a man more evil then yourself it is what you make of it some might veiw it as peturbution a toll to pay for any suffering you might have caused.... but then i am not you i can not say for sure.. know i will stay with you so long as i am able to... protect me if you can and i will do all i can in return for you and your village here..." She still shivered a little but the cold seemed to be deminishing a little
-
"Protection isnt a problem m'lady. Call the filth of a man here. Have him face me. I will cut him down and feed him to the fishes." He began to feel better about himself, as his eyes began to take less of a glow into them. He knew what ihe wanted to do now. He knew what had happened. He had slipped into another self, his angry self. He hadnt done it in a long time, but it was somewhat welcoming to know that even in that state of mind he still cared for her. He now began to lighten his clutch around her blankets.
-
She held onto him "cirden you scared me for a moment i wouldnt ask you to face the man hes under handed and will used every underhanded dirty trick in the book to win of all the people i should know that more then most.." she caressed his cheek "please dont do anything foolish......"
-
"He wont lay a finger on me before i cast him down." He settled back a little bit lossinging his clutch a bit more. "Only thing i could do to be foolish now would be to let him live after performing such an evil deed to such a sweet person. He deserves to rot where he stands, and with luck, I will be the one that assures that."
-
She held onto his hand with considrable force given given her size and muscule density "dont seak him out Cirdan he is more devuois then you can know besides i dont want to be left alone are you so evil and heartless you would leave me now?" She was tearing up knowing tears would sway him if nothing else did but it came natualy she didnt force it to sway him
-
"Leaving you alone is farthest from my mind m'lady. " He wiped the tears from her eyes. "I have no intention of hunting the beast down, I'll let him come to me. He will, I'm sure he will." He smiled happily, and looked down into her eyes, wiping away another tear, before grabbing her left hand, and kissing it again.
-
She hugged him refusing to let him go for a moment "I am glad.. ciden please dont be so rash i know my husband if we should ever meet him you must do as i say
-
As she hugged him, he could feel the warming embrace that came from her. He didnt know what to do at the moment, so he just wrapped his arms around her aswell. The moments embrace was nice, which helped him calm down much more as his anger still lingered a bit from before. "If your husband ever comes around, He will find trouble if he tries touching you."
-
She was hesitant to reease the embrace but after a time he did not cling too him so resting one hand on his shoulder lookin up into his eyes "Please Cirden promise me this one thing and i will give you whatever you assk for that is within my power to give.. should my husband come here promise me you will not fight him openly he is part demon Cirden he has made pacts with dark beings he will not fight fair and he will kill you if you fight him openly and alone please promise me you will do no such things you have given me hope Cirden you may not be able to see it but your heart is strng and your spirit gentle perhaps if your brother wer not born you might be a very differne man" She paused and studied him a moment looking through and past him.. peering into hisvery soul leaving him feeling naked before her then she blinked and the feeling was gone "very different indeed but perhaps this is best.."
-
"I can only promise that i will not openly persue him m'lady, if he persues you, he will meet my wrath full force. He held her on his lap still, only held enough to keep her from falling off, giving her the opportunity to move if she wished. He wouldnt make a promise he couldnt keep. He knew that inside, if this man persued her to cause more pain, he would have to defend her, with every bit of power he had in him, whatever this man was, Cirden didnt fear him at all.
-
He might not fear him but she did she had lived with him for several years and it had seemed ages to her but she had healed and her scars had faded beautifully so that no one ever tell she had spent years as less then a human restrained to a prison of linen and silks by iorn shackles "Just be carefull of him Cirden he is older then i and undoubtedly more powerful"
-
" No worries m'lady, this man has violated you in such ways that must be punished, and i am the one that is preparred to punish him in such vial ways that will repay his sins." He knew he would not have a cakewalk dealing with this man, but he knew he could not let him live either.
-
She sighed trying to arguee was about as sucessful as wrestleing a pig there was just no winning so with a sigh she lay er head on his shoulder ad intwined her fngers in his hair "Please Cirden dont let him hurt me again she whispered and clung to him idly runnign her fingers through his hair
-
"That would be the last thing i would let happen Sharla. I think i have begun to have feelings for you. So it is my duty to protect you. It amazes me that the heart that has been evil for so long, now beats with some good in it." He knew that she wanted him to be safe, but he also knew that he would have to sacrafice his own safety for the woman he was beginning to love.
-
She sighed and still pressed up against him did something unusual and altogether unatual for all he knew of elves her hand turned like that of a spectre as it rested over his heart and he would feel an odd warmth fill his chest as her hand like a ghost slid into his chest with no discomfert it was just very odd to watch and while ghosts were cold she was plesantly warm "goodness will grow you have a gentle spirit Cirden if you allow it of yourself" She withdrew her hand and looked at the flicks of black grit stuck to her hand "Darkness will always be drawn to light even phyically... you continue down an evil path this blackness will build up and kill you in time.. either by drawing a blow of light to you or consuming you utterly..."
-
As she withdrew her hand from his chest, and finished speaking, he lowered his head, and moved her gently to the bed, then stood up, and began to approach his sword still stuck in the hardwood floor. As he spproached it, he stared out the window for a few moments before letting out a sigh. "I havent always been evil. I let myself become evil to counter my brother. He was always the perfect one, i became forgotten, so i did what i needed to becoe remembered. I set fire to my parents house, and set enemies on my home village. My family should remember me forever now, as the forgotten son."
-
You have a beautiful spirit Cirden.. you should nurish it not sicken it trying to prove something you family i have never hurt anyone with the excetion of a few demons who atacked my village.. but i kno wmy people will not forget me so lng as their famlys live my name will be passed down because my people loved me.... I was their preistess and queen but i was also a healer and a gentle person... for that they will not forget me... if you wished to be rembered there are other ways to do it.. but then i can only show you the path it is yours to walk or refuse as you see fit...."
-
"Its to late to take back what I have done, I Can onmly change my future now. Starting with gaurding you from that beast of a man that you once called a husband." HE made his way back to the bed and sat next to her, then layed himself down with his legs hanging over the edge of the bed, just thinking, waiting for her to respond.
-
She looked at him and sighed "if you are admant on fighting him then you will have to forgive me for what iam going to show you for you will need it to know what you are up against. She laced her fingers and closed her eyes and force fed his mind her memorys first he would see from her eyes Barthoren cutting a bit of flesh from her arm and eating it and laughing "would you like some dear?" then to him holding the body of a girl like a broken doll sharlas scream was unintelligable as she took the child away from the man then lastly but the last two visions were far more disturbing one was her husband looking over her a feeling of pain and misery washing over him as she must have felt after her misscarage.. the last was of a spar in the middle of court Barhtoren and another noble Barthorn had had the upper hand clearly and the other man bowed to him and walked away and Barthoren threw a slender blade that went though the mans head and sharlas scream of hororo along with many others echoed into darkness as Cirden came back to his sences "now do you see? he is creul and i have never seen him afraid the mans a lunatic and that makes him all the more dangerus"
-
After seeing the images from her, she could see a tear roll from his left eye as he pulled his hood down over his face to hide his tears. He laid there for a moment, then sat up. Not sure what to do. He put his right hand flat against her belly, feeling it softly as she breathed. "He robbed another life from you. I see now why you worry for my sake, but he stole life from you. He hurt you in ways man should not hurt his wife. You want me not to try to kill him, and yet the only way to defend you, is to kill him. Or at least attempt to. I;m not sure what to do. Vile beings should not walk on earthly plains. Of course, with words like that i doom myself. I feel I have to defend you. and his death is the only way."
He then pulled his hand away from her belly, and put it next to his left hand, in his lap with his head hung low in silence.
-
She looked at him and gave a small smile and brushed the tear away gently "whats done can not be undone..... do not cry for the dead.. my child suffered less then they would have had they been brought into the world" She kissed his cheek "you are not an evil man Cirden.... I do not veiw you so you are capable or great things.. perhaps this will lead you down a better path.. I have faith in you cirden" and with that she kissed him and gave his hand a squeeze
-
He smiled a little when she kissed him again, as he felt her squeeze his hand. "Well perhaps someday myself or someone else will be able to give you the chance to bring a child into this world." He sat there still trying to think of what was going on in his head. What would happen if this man ever came for her. Would He ever be able to share a long life with her? Would they have children? He didnt know, but he had some hopes.
-
She smilled and cocked her head to the side and he had the feeling she wasnt looking at him but though him past him into someplace beyond sight "I would love that.. someday.." and leaned her head against his shoulder and sighed "We are safe for now I can sence my husband and him I so we can always tell when the other is close.. for now i cant sence him so he must be quite far...
-
"Well, you'll find a lucky guy someday. No worries about that." He kept his head hung low, but kept an eye on her as she looked to him. As she laid her head on his shoulder, he felt a certain comfort hearing her words that he seemed to be far away from her. Perhaps he could live a somewhat happy life knowing that he didnt have to be on the ready to attack all the time Although he knew he would be ready anyways.
As he sat there he put his left arm around her back, and rested his hand on her lap, holding her close for a moment as he turned his head and kisssed the top of her head, knowing that something good could possibly be happening in his life for once. Perhaps this was meant to happen.
