IC: Resurrecting the past

[align=justify:f856426870]Storm scoffed in her own compromise, the welcome had been pleasant from both Shadow & Poison, enough to gain her respect whereas the other bore nothing of any emotion… just a cold dark stare and silence. Regardless of being welcome, she was relatively surprised that any childer of Nicola would ever be welcome within these walls, not to mention one who Darius himself thought highly of, in comparison to his lack of emotions towards his own family. Casting those dark sentiments aside, Storm simply continued with her own conversation already established between herself, Lady Shadow and her daughter- both were close to strangers to her, but the knowledge was not so obsolete in regards to who they were and how they had been viewed in the past; not that Nicola had ever spoken wrongly of either- at least not in Storm’s presence however perhaps Mobius Demonsheart would shed a different light. If of course the coward could be found after placing an imposter on the throne in the guise of his own daughter, Duskcana Morwen’Dae.

It was entertaining to see that one, who despised his father so much, had turned into his exact replica- an imagery of the hypocrite had never been painted so beautifully. It was all past now, no point in dwelling on it. “On the contrary my dear Lady of Shadows, formalities is all I know therefore all I practice, it comes with the territory of whom I was and who I am reduced to being. It is best to remain formal and impartial- only then can I give an honest opinion of status without bringing into it the drollness of false honor… all in the name of family sake. My faith isn’t so whimsical in regards to ‘family’. The Demonsheart name was reduced to nothing but incest and ill-breeding… it leaves nothing to my palate of honor, only disgust.” Shoulders shifting upwards casually, nonchalant in administration, she knew fully well of not only the Demonsheart history but also the Darkheart history, both its underhandedness and habits of betrayals, Storm also knew Shadow had more than her fair share of it.

“We are not without our enemies, even if the shadows still hang like heavy webs over this house- abandoned by those who claimed to never turn nor leave. I was only brought here by Nicola, my mother… My adopted mother!” Storm made sure there was plenty of emphasis on the word ‘adopted’, her voice holding back the spite which threatened to strike out from her tongue, holding back that maliciousness as if it were a paramount upon a tightly held leash. “I believe my first journey here, was less pleasant than this… it involved Raethgir and Alexa. Hmmmm.” Drifting off to her own thoughts for a moment before quickly continuing with her point “… the second time, I came with Nicola and Mobius, after I made sure that the Demonsheart kingdom could never rise again. Some things are best left dead… if you know what I mean?” It was very pointed just what she was exactly getting to, in her own mused and riddled way of dialogue. Storm had a purpose here and she was soon to get to that point as well without adding in the flowery words her entering daughter had, as if this was some happy little family reunion with tea and biscuits.

“I come with pretty much the same purpose I did back then. You have a kingdom… unguarded. Your defenses weakened, even though I have no doubt you cannot defend yourself, but there is a difference when you have much to lose!” Her eyes shifted over to Poison and then to Tigeress. “Children can be used against you!” A smirk crossing her rubicund lips in an almost devious and sadistic expression, a dark twinkle illuminating within the pure blackened chasms of her eyes “I have nothing to lose, therefore I am not subjected to the threat of loss. I was once the Warlordess of Demonsheart, and I offer you the same… should the need arise. I am sure my credentials are more than satisfactory since my status cannot be argued, nor can my triumphs.” Lips grinning with the confidence well deserved of her title and experience, none of the Demonsheart members other than Rage could defend themselves to save an inch of their lives and many times had Storm come to their defenses while they all cringed like dogs at the boots of their enemies.

There was no need for flowery words, Lady Shadow herself could not deny that they were at a great disadvantage- right now the only thing they all could do was watch each others backs and be ready for the scoundrels who knew Castle Darkheart was not at its strongest. Maybe, they could find penance in the fact… that maybe the castle had little to offer in the eyes of those who wanted to siege it- what hostages could they take in order to have their demands obeyed? There was no one to bargain with, nor any means of dealings that would satisfy plunderers. The only risk they perhaps had, was that of rogue soldiers, mercenaries and slayers… then again only a vampire would have to worry about ‘slayers’ while they slept in their coffins. The only truth to the matter was that right now, there possibly was no threat, but then again who could really know until they were in the face of adversary. [/align:f856426870]
