[align=justify:97800d57c4]I love walking around, I couldn't deal 6 months because it was damn hard work, cook and deckhand on a 90ft trawler out in cyclonic waters in-between Thurday Island & Papua New Guinea. I barely got any sleep. We worked all night, and the guys got a sleep when the try-nets were down, but I had to cook and prepare food. Plus work the trays, then have to grade the prawns, fish, squid & bugs. Then we had to scrub the trays down... by now it is morning mind you.
We had to mend the nets, and we used the big fuckers, fathom nets... sharks make lovely BIG holes. Then I had to cook breakfast. The guys went to bed, I cleaned the boat. Then had to make them lunch. By about 3-4pm I got to have 2-4 hours sleep before it started ALL over again. We got to buy stuff from the Mother Ship, and we had some awesome parties by hooking up to other trawlers. But it was hard work.
Got good money though, earnt 12% of whatever the boat made, the deckies were on 8%. Walked off with quite a few grand. That was the plus.[/align:97800d57c4]
