IC: Where innocence weeps

[align=justify:e43e6b9e38]Many years had passed since Malaise drifted through these parts, it had been many years since she thought to rise and start off from where her beloved clan had left. Raven and Andy had long vanished into the mists of memory, it was if Andy ever quite recovered after Amanda's adultery with King Adrian Vlad Tepes, becomming pregnant with his child. The Tepes and Dracul family had become a target of the Corvidae clan all was turned to ash with the fires after the slaughter. How she enjoyed watching the death of Adrian while his wife watched sipping on a glass of wine with the most malignant stare Malaise had ever seen. The woman had been one she admired, the strength and power held in a balanced hand. For awhile there, both her, Catalina Del Sol and Atra'Lamia used to frequently haunt the Vampire Tavern & Black Dragon Inn. A bit of fun here and a little of the slaughter there, those days were perfect. It was such a shame they had to end.

With the Corvidae leader gone, the Mistress of the clan it had been left to ruin. Members scattered themselves across the land only to be picked off one by one from the enemies they had gathered. Malaise was forced into hiding to train, if they were going to slaughter her blood, she was going to give them a fight to remember. She had heard that Atra'Lamia had rose through the ranks of Darkbane only to eventually turn against them because of some weak blood known as Kalicity Darkbane. Nothing surprised Malaise one bit having come across the vampire who called herself Kalicity, challenging her to hand to hand combat only to run off and make some pitiful excuse of having better things to do. It was hardly the behavior of a mighty clan centered on death and blood.  She had informed Atra of this, only to have her turn and say that every clan has it Judas, and every clan has that weakling who hides behind the names of those far greater, more threatening and superior. Seemed Atra had been right.

Now Malaise sought to find her old friend, she had no idea where to begin her search only the temple where Atra once conjured her dark spells through the thick incense of pungent herbs. She was not sure if she would be greeted with a welcome or one with pitched forks and torches. A fight was always welcomed and enjoyed, she was far more feisty than before. Atra leaving Darkbane threw Malaise totally off so now she had to find another way in locating her. Some one may know of her whereabouts but considering the reputation of the Corvidae clan as being slayers she kind of figured they would be less likely to say anything and draw their weapons to spill her blood. That was the Darkbane welcome she expected to receive. For now she would travel over the barren plains where nothing grew, no wind blew and not even a crow cawed in the distance. To Malaise this was a place where innocence wept and died, it was a place of death and stunk of it.

The traveler traveled on, a lone figure in the distance searching for one she knew from before not even knowing if Atra would remember her.[/align:e43e6b9e38]

Taji had managed to get out of Eden while it was being attacked. She had made her way through the lands only to end up in a place that brought her heart nothing but sorrow. Her body had scratches, her attire torn to tatters from having to run through the harsh scrub lands of the swamps. Her bronze skin now soiled with mud and grime. Her once beautifully adorned golden and fuchsia costume only looked like rags. Barely it clung to her form as she ran boundlessly across the plains, stumbling over jutted rocks and debris only to land hard into the dirt. It peeled and scraped at her flesh and she found it hard not to cry out in pain.

Using both hands she pushed herself up, knees bent beneath her figure as she rose only to look at the black boots just before her hands. Taji looked up, wide eyed and disorientated to the woman before her. God she felt foolish, she hoped this woman wasn't one of the mercenaries who had stormed the gates of eden and plunged the land into darkness. "How clumsy of me. I am so sorry" She felt like a child who was just about to be punished for doing something silly, playing where she was told not to go. The woman looked a bit intimidating, dressed in black leather and makeup, a sword in her hand and a wild look in her eye. Trapped to the situation now, Taji just had to play the fate she was just about to be served all she could hope for was that it would be a quick death.
